MENTOR...why bother?

LOL I work for DHE also and basically I dont know much about putting on chains except it takes me hours and I hate it! I just got stuck on that hill on I5 Oregon to Cali for 9 hours, 6 hours waiting for them to clear the wrecks and 3 hours to put on my chains till they wouldnt fall off.
I wont get into details here about myself, but I hate this company, only good thing about them is holiday pay....;.;
Nice of you though to help out a fellow driver, I commend you. I have met a few DHE friendlies but not many.. Most are from southern cal and have an attitude....

 

From experience I can tell you what they do if you blow a scale and don't stop! They come after you and put the cuffs on you and put you in the back of the car! My first trip out I was with a trainer and we were coming into Florida. Trainer was sleeping and I came up on the AG/scalehouse. Well I saw the AG sign and figured I wasn't hauling cattle so I kept going. Not a smart move! After 45 min of being cuffed, stuffed and cussed I was let go with a warning. Oh yeah I did have to pass several sobriety tests. Also my trainer was awoken by the cop so that he could verify my story of me being a new driver and didn't know what an AG station was.

Otherhalf, it feels good knowing there are drivers like you still out there. I am wondering how many trucks went by that driver on the side of the road? You are a real man if you step up to help a newbie throw chains! It's drivers like you that show the world what a real trucker is!

 

Pretty well all these roadsa are radio controlled so every oine is calling his location and direction of travel.. (empty going in andf loaded coming out) so we know most of the time where every one is.. most roads have some sort of pull out every half a KM or so, and trucks pull in there to let others go by.. usually the empty truck give way to loaded ones so that the heavier trucks keep thier momentun especially up hills.. if you listen to the vid you will hear a guy call km 1 on the T road

 

Well you wouldnt have a job in the patch for very long if you didnt want to chain up.. On our Bill of lading we have an instruction section for directions etc,. and there will be times that the customer will make note that we are to chain up at a specific location mile marker.. as you have seen from some of my vids the roads are sometimes very steep and chaining up is the only way to get to location.. wont chain up?? may be stuck as a city driver then or maybe even a dispacther lol

 

Nothing against lady drivers , but.. we had one female driver who wasnt the smartest and had been a swamper on a piucker/boom truck for a long while.. well she had a few incidents and was on the verge of getting run off till one day she ran a scale east of the city and was so stupiud as to tell the officer that she missed the open sign cause she was talking on her cell phone.. well the DOT called our safety guy and reperted on her violation and what she told them.. she was canned that day..lol
