And they do have job placement through the school and if you are unemployed, Michigan Works will cover your tuition if you can get 2 pre hire letters. Mine was paid for by Workers Compensation.

FWIW, I went to Michigan Works, and they will, in fact, pay tuition for truck school. Unfortunately for me, they have a three month waiting list, due, apparently , to lack of funding. I am just going to bite the bullet and write a check. Some of their affiliated companies offer reimbursement of sorts, anyway.
I start monday. Probably a good time, as they are probably slow with the holidays.(maybe).
my construction biz is just too slow, It barely pays the maint. and ins. on my dumptruck and tractors, plus, I'm getting too old and creaky LOL, and I'm ready for a change. I got my wifes' business up and running nicely,(Dental Laboratory- she makes crowns and bridges for dentists) and now the building rehab and construction is done and I am under employed. Michigan economy kind of sucks right now, folks aren't spending the big $$ on their home improvement projects now.
If anyone has any more advice, I'm all ears. This is a big move for me; I've always had a business of my own. I'm 49 and smart enough to know what I don't know!
Thanks again -
