I talked to the recruiter in Brooks and was told the same thing, was told they have drivers waiting for trucks, so right now they weren't paying for trans. and motel but said that could change at anytime.

Hey B.A.D., orientation wasn't too bad, it sounds like your drive training will have you prepared. The drive wasn't to crazy just basic truck driving and a little backing. What size trailer did you train with?

Thanks K-man. I got to train on a variety of equipment; several sizes of vans: 40', 48', 53', and double 28's; also some flatbeds: 40' drop deck heavy and 48' spread axle. No trouble with straight backing, and can usually get it in the spot on an angle back with just one or two pull-ups.

Thanks for the insight. Looking forward to taking the next step at May, and doing the best job I can.

Well, just got back from three days of orientation at Brooks. It's now official; I'm a new May Trucking employee, and will be heading out with a trainer next week.
I really can't say enough about the people that I met and the sense of professionalism that I got from everyone at the Brooks terminal. I'm really looking forward to getting to work for MTC. I don't expect everything to be rosy or each trip to be 'perfect', but I'll do the best I can.

See you guys on the road...
