Considering the truck will burn close to a gallon an hour you better put a little more than $10 in lol with these prices, glad i got rid of my truck.

we got an offer to do a regional run, either as a team or solo and was wondering about them.

Also, is there a way to get their DOT # so that I can look them up and see what there safety rating is and so forth?

thanks Joey for the link and DOT #... now I have to try and understand the percentile : what's acceptable, what's not. Got off the road in January and feel that I have to learn this all over again

I have had toll issues like that in both PA and Mass. All I do is call and get it fixed. Not normally and issue. They do not like to cover the section West of where 70 splits off for WV though. Have to go around that.
Cannot use OH or IN pikes. No matter what.

The trucks do not slow down till you get percentage above 26%. No matter what the card says.
Mine is below 25%. And Has not been reset since truck was new. So it would take months of idle to get this sucker to slow down. Has like 280k miles on it now.
I will crank the heat up in the bunk while driving. So that it is all warm when I get in.
Then I do not have to idle much. I may have 3 hours in a day where the temps are below 20.
Hot days are my bane. I cannot sleep when it is hot. So the truck runs more. I have several fans. And use any trick I can think of.
Figure that you can run the engine 2.5 hours at idle for every 10 hours you drive. Ration yourself that way. Works for me. I am rarely uncomfortable.

Not many company's managed to replace 90% of their fleet in the recession. And still manage to make a profit every quarter. Plus all equipment is paid for with cash. None is leased. None is financed.

Heartland Express is a very very controlling company ! They tell you where to go , how THEY want you to get there , if you don't do exactly what THEY say , then they deduct the tolls right from your check , even without telling you ! They tell you where you can and can't sleep , you have to get permission from the KING to idle the truck in the extreme cold or summer . They tell you when to fuel , where to fuel and even how much to fuel ...home time is determined by someone flipping a quarter , they will run you out of hours and then blame it on you and shut you down whenever and wherever they choose , a decision made by a chairwarmer in the office who has no clue where you even are ...and thenif they don't get their own way they try to mar your DAC report , thank god that I am a professional driver and other companies saw right through the spoiled child formerily known as Heartland Express ...which should actually call themselves " Heartless " Express ...And , oh by the way Heartland Express wanna bees , I still have all my logs and paperwork if ya wanna try something childish and stupid ....

Well their trk. so you should fuel where they want you to fuel. That's a no brainer.
Then they rte. you, ok so I take it you chose to run a different rte. and then you get mad because they made you pay the tolls?
    Am I reading this correct?
As for the sleeping part. Did you have a high value ld. at the time?
Some companies I do know that's the case with those types of ld. for security reasons.
I have also read on this board that some companies do not want their trks. sleeping or stopping anywhere near W. Memphis,Ar.

Mom threw the sh1t against the wall and ran. When will drivers realize that the hole in the front of their face can be used to ask questions and to ask for things in writing. They should also realize that they have not 1 cent of ownership in that company truck so there are rules, can't follow the rules? then don't drive the #### truck. Yes I am in a bad mood, I am being snowed on and its the 3rd week of May!!!!!!!!
