I am single and do not have a family. I just have myself and would travel anywhere. I love to drive and do not see myself pushing a desk anytime soon.

I thought the issue was you have the O/O willing to hire you but looking for company to lease to?
If he get's his own authority and experience is an issue then look at power only programs like JB Hunt. While I think the rates are low, they beat the rates you get when you lease onto a company. And for an established company freight is not an issue these days. -
You know Bill he keeps telling me he needs to get me qualified. I have reefer experience and tried telling him that. I cant reach his company phone and it sometimes takes two days to get an e-mail back. I really want to run for O/O and learn from him. If he thinks I am good and wants to employ me and get a additional truck, Id already know his ways etc..

Ok KH... I can keep quiet no longer. You know I wish you the best and I don't want to rag on you... but... where did 6mths experience come from? Am I missing something, but you never actually drove for USX and then you did 2 separate stints with an O/O that lasted a 1-2 weeks each right? How can your future employer get that verified? And your reefer experience was just those few weeks you did with that O/O?
Maybe I'm wrong and I don't know of the other experience you've had but if what I listed is all there is it could be very hard to lease on somewhere and I don't know of an insurance that would touch you yet. -
You do not know of the other experiences TG where I did reefer besides my other one. I did go to USX orientation last Feburary but thats another story. I found a carrier willing to take me. JRC Transportation that does flat and dry van.
Edit: If I could, I'd sell everything I have and go get a truck but I'd rather company.

I wasn't suggesting a desk job. Only pointing out the risk you could have with a financially stressed o/o employer. As in getting hung out on the road while waiting for expense money to come through to pay for something.
We're into our 3rd week carrying paying freight and I've had to be on point 24/7 to make sure the truck keeps moving. A chunk of that making sure the driver has fuel, funding for expenses, and gets paid too. And that's with my wife and I not driving, so I can only imagine the pressure on those that run their business solo from the driver's seat. You men and women doing that have my utmost respect, without a doubt. The Challenger and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Got approved for JRC today. Was told its mostly flat and some dry van. In addition I was told I would have to do load securement training in Seville. Seem like nice folks. Sent an e-mail to my boss letting him know. As have an offer to go out with an local o/o I know to do reefer.

Walbon went to hell about 3 years ago when their Director of Operatians of 20 some years got fed up with the little brother (salesman) of the 3 Walbon Brothers, and walked out the door. They have been struggling to stay afloat since. And lately they've been taking back bennies etc. It used to be a great company until little brother took over, but not anymore. I know....worked thier for years.
