Yep, all valid points. Companies are saving a bundle with drivers taking per diem. And in my case, short term and long term disability insurance is based on your taxable income. I'm shorted $142 a month because of the per diem thing.
Rollover, you could always do a screen shot of the excel sheet. Go to paint and paste and then save it as a picture and upload it. I don't think the forum accepts .xls documents.

Marten Transport has mandatory perdiem.

I thought I did that with my cut and paste but I should know by now after 2500 posts!
The "chart" at the bottom of my post above is what we got but it shows all the numbers but being able to post the excel sheet itsself would be a fun thing for these newbies to figure out what they will be getting! I guess if they have an excell program I could post the data for each cell which would give them something to do while waiting for training or orienation! But if they understand basic math they can just do the figuring themselves as they have the written problems above! I could have added a lot more but why take all the fun out of it for those with an excell program and easy calc!
Hey it did it did! you can even copy it if you want!Attached Files:

I will back you up on that on about W-2's and home loans. Back in the late 80's i was driving for a company that had a few drivers wanting to buy a home, they were turned down because of the low income on the W-2. They had to get a letter from the owners to vouch for the per diem to bring there income up.

Not to defend per diem... but my paystub shows both taxable and non-taxable income - easy enough for a lender to add the two together.

if any company tells me I HAVE to take PD I show them their keysRollover the Original Thanks this.

That is IF the lender will look at the pay stub! My last 2 loans I had to show my bank statements and tax files for the last gazillion years and I think they took my first born. I havent seen him in a while!
I keep wondering about that blood test also! I can't remember if banks had a Phlebotomy Department. -
Southern Refrigerated Transport has mandatory per diem.

I forgot a very important item in the list so now I have to put:
Fifth:
Unemployment! Just like disability or Workers Comp will be effected! If you are fired or quit and manage to get unemployment guess what?? Yep! Less money to survive on till you get another job!
Ya just gotta love those Per Diem cheerleaders! -
Oh look it's per-diem thread again! I swear we need a sticky message that says "Per-Diem: Good for the company, horrible for you"
Rollover the Original Thanks this.
