It's walmart--they are god and you are a mere mortal. If you get "detention" pay, I guarantee it came from your company, not walmart.
Just pee on the bananas when you're in the produce department... that's what I do.![]()

Just how does that wonderful company expect you to do that? Do they think you've got magical powers that you can communicate with the lumpers to see how much they're going to rip you off? God, I hate mallwart more every time I smell those places.
-
I'd do more than that if I could get away with it. As it is, the trailer storage area will have to work, and I smile everytime, especially if it's a mallwart trailer I happen to hit.!!
-
one thing that is a constant...50 bucks no matter what the load. i unloaded a few myself last week or so. 1 skid...50 bucks in my pocket, next stop 3 skids..50 bucks in my pocket $$$$$$$
-
The lumpers only take $50 regardless of how many skids? I've never paid a lumper at a mallwart, thankfully it was part of the contract. Still sucked being there though.
-
yes, walmart is 50$ periodjohnday Thanks this.

That's better than MDV Nash Finch... The broker had to cough up $300 for them this morning.

yeah that's great--and I only do LTL--and Wal-Mart still sucks--I only do them for the best customers and they pay a serious premium LTL rate--because in the time I am at one Wal-Mart I can run 100 miles and make 3-4 drops--even the ones I am very familiar with--and it is already broke down--and I pull it off with my jack--it still takes #### near 2 hours with all their procedural BS--IMHO--this still makes them the ABSOLUTE GROCERY WHSE in the world--and I have been to them all--the same 2 palletts of produce--or dairy--depending which way I am going--is 30 minutes or less with very few exceptions--and those exceptions are rarely more than an hour--
Now in the case of full t/l--it is a different story--$50 for a full load and in and out in a couple of hours is fine--but as for LTL--it's nonsense!
Just my $.02
johnday, panhandlepat and lilillill Thank this. -
Oh and as for the times etc. like I mentioned before and has been posted here--their times never match--except for the original gate pass--BUT--if you are fighting for detention--when they give you their BS release form--that has the so called working and ready at window times--just scratch their times out--look up at the clock--and write yours in--this is a legal document--and by signing it you are agreeing with the terms--isn't a contract in the world that can't be changed before signed--and for y'all that pay the thieves--they all use a register receipt to give you for unloading fees--that is time dated--and it is the time they took your money which is the actual time they check you out!
panhandlepat Thanks this. -
that is absolutely why I brought up the issue of having a comcheck ready BEFORE you get to the window at Brundidge,. ONLY one I have ever been to that requires payment BEFORE you get unloaded
