Not necessarily. We still have at least one truck that is old enough to only have a 4 digit truck number running in the fleet. It's a brown mid roof FLD that runs on the flatbed side. The driver bought it thru an ACE lease, and has kept the maintenance up on it.

If we can have a old FLD in the fleet, what's to say that we can't have a few Centuries that were ACE leased still in the fleet? That truck in the pick is an 2004 or older. 2005 Centuries started the round fog lamps.

If you look at the bottom right of the picture it says it was in 2008.

    They say, or he says.

Plenty of drivers around the terminal who are legends in their own mind and aren't afraid to tell you ad nauseum.

It's amazing what the guys say they've seen and done! All the while cussing and mother-effin every shipping/recieving clerk, dispatcher, cop, mechanic and waitress to their faces when they come across one that gets in the way of what they want...

    Or so they say.

He's a good guy, and I'm sure you'd agree if you met him.

Hey guys I have a questions for yous. We are closest to the Pittston PA terminal so I am going to guess that is where he will be based out of. How exactly does home time work. Are you actually home for it or is it just basically an off day for wherever you are. He's going to be leaving for MO in a few weeks and I know chances are he won't be home during his training. Also do they send you home after the training and do you have to wait for a truck or do they just drop you off at the lot. Last question (I Promise) do the guys on the company side get to bring their trucks home.
    Thank you in advance! ~Liss

Well... assuming things haven't changed - being a working driver, not a hanging around the terminal waiting for the latest scoop driver...

    :biggrin_2559:

You put in for your hometime - at least a week or better two weeks ahead of time - so the system has time to get your request into the flow of things - then they find a load that routes you home. Your first day off is the first day you're not driving. 4 days at a stretch before you report back in, and a minimum of 3 weeks out.

That can be arranged, but it does stretch his training out. Its also possible he may be routed through Pittston at some point as well.

After you get assigned to a tractor, they ususally try to make sure your first load "runs you through the house." They recognize that a driver only has a minimal kit when he arrives for training. I haven't heard of folks waiting for trucks at Prime, but it could happen depending on what's available.

Depends. If your close enough to the terminal to be routed there to drop a trailer, then I believe he'll need to park it there. However, if you live outside of the area they'll route him to a location where he can drop the trailer, then you bobtail home.
