The truck is a GMC brigadier I'm letting it off the clutch easily but it still stalls. The other truck is a Kenworth K100, and I'm having the same issue, the last problem is having to double clutch it it's a five speed and some of the gears aren't inline

try a lower gear for starting out
and the not inline part---sounds like the shifter is worn out--gears will still be line but the shifter is probabely sloppier than a burger king burger

It's in first gear, and about the KW to get it into first you have to go down and to the left secont is right then straight up second to 3rd is my problem it's a dog leg you have to go down and to the right

    What transmission are you using?
Sounds to me like you're trying for 4th, not third

The diagram is off, but, when I fix it, it won't stay fixed.

    Probly like this

    R 1 4

    L 2 3

That is common shift pattern on older trucks.

It's something like this (it's still a little off): (you go left all the way and down, second up right a little, third down and right a little)

Yep, that could be, too, but it isn't the last two gears he's having trouble with.
What year is the truck? Short shifter in it?
Could be the linkage is worn badly.

It's a 70 something but it's a college mechanics truck that we (the class) use
