Why would your Dad's company require you to have 6 months experience? If he's a small owner operater he doesn't have to follow the same insurance rules as the mega carriers.

Most smaller companies require more experience for their drivers to get lower insurance rates. Most of the large companies are self-insured for the most part. They can set their own rules.

Army Wife, I understand what your trying to do, but there is alot of negative on here and enough to let anyone new know they are not a prime choice and everyone knows it. Thats why you got called back so quick!

That's a pretty heavy accusation there....

Just because a women is a trucker doesn't mean she will "run around the country with other men" How asinine is that presumtion? I shudder to think of the disrepect you show women in your daily life.
bikegoon Thanks this. -
Thank you! My thoughts exactly. -
Not an accusation at all. Simply an almost foregone conclusion based upon the percentage of male to female trainers at CRST.....not to mention the ratio of co-drivers that are female that she will possibly be able to team with out of Michigan for the remainder of the six months that she is seeking.
Accusation? I humbly submit that mine is more of a learned observation. While 'running around with other men.' might not have been the most savory use of the English language. It was not at all meant to be taken in the vernacular that you have apparently labeled it (the post) with.
I was simply stating the facts in regard to her particular situation. Yes, chances are she will be running around the country with other men. Not in the way that you portray it, but as an employee in a new venture that she has no previous experience in.
Hope this clears it up.

In all probability it actually does. Again, as I just previously posted to the other person. I speak from experience and knowledge on the particular subject(s). CRST..team truck driving, etc. At no point did I go down the dark path that a couple of you posters have gone down....ie; apparent sexual insinuations. I simply was pointing out that most likely, she would be in a team truck driving situation that would involve spending copious amounts of time with (possibly) a male figure on board.....and that might not exactly sit well with the husband soldier overseas. I don't think that is too much of a stretch. Do you?
Respectfully submitted,
MajorTom -
I don't think she is saying her dad owns the company, just that it is the company he works at.

And pray tell, what is the harm in sleeping in a truck with a teacher, if both are respectful of the other's prior committments?
