Lost about 15 lbs so far. nothing really radical. I think the 8-10 Advil I'm taking per day for sore muscles (and my trashed right wrist) probably help with the BP..

Advil won't help.. aspirin is a blood thinner, advil is not aspirin. Changing you diet and walking is what helped

15 lbs is 15 lbs. My BP is good. Always has been and I don't know why. I haven't always eaten healthy and I'm overweight, so you'd think I'd have high BP, unless I just don't understand how it works.
-
My BP has never been higher than 138... I have a buddy who is in good shape and was running marathons 4-5 years ago... his unmedicated BP has always been over 160, ever since he was 25 or so. Genetics, I suppose.
-
BP could be genetic, but I believe that it is more environmental. If you are raised on high fat foods and get little exercise growing up you are more likely to mimic that same behavior as you grow older. I think that diet and lifestyle has more to do with BP and most other ailments than genetics.
-
Tobacco use plays a large part in it too.

Not with me, never has, but I agree.

You can get it at most heath food stores and it taste good. Put it in my pancakes and cereal. I know other guys that have used it for years and they no longer take blood pressure meds. AND NO it is not pot and has zero THC in it.

Advil can RAISE BP. Aspirin is not affective in fighting BP, it has anticoagulant effect (makes the platelets which form the clots responsible for most heart attacks less "sticky", thus eliminating much of the risk for clots). Aspirin is often recommended for those with high bp because of the increased risk of heart attack with increased bp. However, high BP can also increase the risk of a stroke which can be aggravated with the use of aspirin, so aspirin needs to be taken in consultation with a physician.
Individual reports of decreased bp in conjunction with taking aspirin are anecdotal.rocknroll81 Thanks this. -
Shoot me for changing topic, but I haven't really found a updated post on this. But how is the DOT hearing test now-a-days? I have had 3 sets of tubes put in my ear due to hearing loss and unfort. I do suffer from minor hearing loss (not enough for hearing aids). Do they still stand 5 feet behind you and whisper?
