They Don't Pay Any Extra!! and I'm surprised that they had a driver with Haz-Mat in there fleet of drivers!
Hendrickson will not pay you for bumping the dock on time nor pay you to sit at a shipper of Consignee! Hendrickson is a company with some nice recruiters who will tell that they have great freight to run, and examples of the miles and money you can make with them but once they have you seated in a truck there dispatch could care less about you as a driver!!!

I ran 3+ weeks for this company and I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life, the dispatch team and load planners are a bunch of lying Jerks who don't care if you have to wait 3-5 hours at a Consignee simply to get unloaded, More over you will never get compensated for your time waiting! Oh and if you keep yourself on line 4 while you are waiting on the job they will get on your case to go change you logbook showing that time as off duty. What about running legal logbooks?

Hendrickson's latest SCAM :biggrin_25510:is they have purchased 15-20 brand new 2012 Kenworth trucks, some sleeper birth (single bunk), and some day-cabs.
The recruiting department said that they have a great program with these new trucks as they are mainly going to be doing drop and hook because these trucks can NOT travel outside the state of California.
The recruiting department said that because of this government grant program and they have so much freight they need to be run these trucks as a teams, they said by doing this the average team will be getting 5300-5700 mile per week!:biggrin_25513: WHAT A JOKE!!!
My best week was 3580 miles in one week!!!

This company is full of lying recruiters who will say anything to get you seated in a truck, then turn you over to a dispatch team that will hang you up at a locations waiting as much as 3-5 hours to get into a dock and unload!! They are crooks!

These dispatchers and load planners will do everything in their power to keep you out on the road making less than minimum wage! If you don't believe me, I will run the numbers for you! In one week I totaled up all my hours worked to my hours I was paid... $6.89 per hour!!!
THAT IS NOT EVEN MINIMUM WAGE!!!

Directed by the most arrogant jerk Kenneth Williams who can only respond to a concern by saying "well this is the career path you chose, take it or leave it"

    RUN RUN RUN RUN

DON'T EVER CONSIDER WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY!!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE FIRST HAND WHAT SLAVERY IS LIKE.

You called it right "A 3 Ring Circus" :biggrin_25523:
I quit this week and Russel was not there or he was never introduced.
In Ring #1 "the Recruiting Department"

In Ring #2 "the Management and Owner Mr. Ward Hendrickson" with his little short fuse temper, this guy is a classic silver spooned rich boy who never learned how to respect or treat people!

In Ring #3 "the Dispatch Clowns & Load Planners" These people are so disorganized and messed up. The people DOT should be drug testing is this group.

Oh and in Ring #4 "the one and only payroll clerk" she carries the same attitude as does the owner.

    [Snowbird1] Good Discernment!
March and now it is April, wow, that did not take very long to see the real truth!
I hope your Husband has found a new job, and that he has gotten out of this awfully run company!

Yes the Hendrickson Recruiters are habitual liars!!! And yes I drove for them for a little over one week before learning that my driver manager/dispatcher was Danny, Let me tell you how I met my driver manager!

In the orientation class Eddie and Dick both stressed that Log books are to be accurate and truthful. They said the company will not tolerate any falsified logs. If anyone is caught falsifying their log book they will be immediately terminated.
I was teamed up with another guy in the class to run as a team, we were assigned one of the brand new Kenworth trucks (yes is has that new truck smell):yes2557:
We were out 9 days, my team driver drove till 1:15 AM He woke me up, saying that he could not keep his eyes open and had to stop.
Waking up I was surprised they still had us driving and not routed us to Sacramento so we could both get a 34 hour reset. We were NB I-5 at exit 607 heading to Yreka, I only had 7.75 hours available to work so I figured that I could get this load to Yreka and head back to Sacramento and then take my 34 reset. Now driving this new truck it still did not have license plates, so entering the Weigh Scale at Cottonwood they called my truck into the inspection bay #3. That took 1/2 hour and I logged that on line 4 on duty (not driving) We get to Weed and Cal-Trans is forcing all trucks to chain up. That takes me 40 minuets to chain up then drive over the snow once we get out on the flat there is no snow and trucks are pulling off there chains. We get in to Yreka drop the trailer and hook to another load and head back to Sacramento chain up again and go through the snow. I get out of the snow, I drop my chains and head to Sacramento. I was watching my hours and I'm approaching 9AM I contacted dispatch with my satellite computer letting them know that I am out of hours and my team driver only has a 1/2 hour left to drive after he completes his 10 hour. I was told it's OK just head it in to Sacramento and we will get you your 34 hour. We get close to Dunnigan and the computer box is going off requesting us to go to FedEx in West Sacramento and pick up a trailer there. I send back a text message flagging the dispatcher that I am out of hours! I get a phone call asking me to take off some of my ON DUTY (NOT DRIVING) time and put it up on line #1 to OFF DUTY, that way I could go get the load. I said what about all the talk in recruiting and orientation about falsifying your log book? I kept on driving SB on I-5. At this point in time I emailed the operations manager Mr. Kenneth Williams a note that I'm out of hours and I'm being told to go get another load in West Sacramento. So I'm waiting to hear back, no response!
I kept driving the truck and once I passed the I-80 turn off for West Sacramento the computer box starts lighting up with messages! To contact Dispatch! I called in and they patched me over to Danny, He said why aren't you going to pick up that load and why did you email our operations manager? I told Danny that I am out of hours, if I get pull over I am in violation of the law! I don't have any time to go get another load! and if you expect me to go get this load consider this my resignation!
We get into the Hendrickson yard and go through the safety lane, they hang up our truck for 45 minuets changing tires on the trailer.

I park the truck and take my paperwork into the dispatcher Danny sees me and my co-driver standing in the decapitated dirty drivers room, he immediately gets up from his desk and tell us to meet him out side. We go back out side and Danny is pissed at me for going over his head and emailing Kenneth the operations manager!
Evidently Kenny does not like to get emails from drivers! More over he does not like to talk to drivers or help resolve conflicts. Kenny would not talk to me!

I ended up giving them 3 more chances to show me that they can run a trucking company properly. They are constantly asking drivers to falsify their logbook, strongly suggesting that you go off duty any time you are waiting to unload or load a truck. They will not compensate a driver for waiting at a Shipper or Consignee they expect you to give up 2 hours at each before requesting standby pay.

All I can say is Hendrickson Trucking has failed miserably to keep a truck moving and get the miles they boasted we would get running as a team! And they have failed miserably to be honest and truthful!! I am not a slave and I will not allow a company to teat me with this much disrespect.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS, LACK OF SLEEP, GRIEF AND ANGER, AND LACK OF $PAY$, DO NOT WORK FOR HENDRICKSON TRUCKING!!!

THANKS FOR TELLING IT LIKE IT IS!

I was in LA and running low on hours and I was told by dispatch to go back into my log book and redo my log book to save myself some time by shaving off any time from line 4 and put it up on line 1 other wise I'm simply hanging my self with no hours to work! and it would be my fault that I could not drive!

I called the California Labor Commissioner and asked if trucking companies are exempt from paying people who attend orientation class?
I was told NO, they have to pay minimum wage ($8.00 per hour) for any training or orientation class!
So don't let a company like Hendrickson BULLY you into believing that they don't have to pay you.
    GO FILE A CLAIM!!!

    Braveheart Thanks this.

I have a good friend from Utah who worked for Hendrickson Trucking he was a leaser and said that the first 3 weeks went OK but his miles per run began to drop and he found himself sitting A LOT at shippers and receivers! Then then after his 3rd pay period his paycheck bounced!!!!!!!!
    :mshocked:
It took another 12 days to get that check corrected only now my friend was dealing with many bank charges to his account.
Then his second check bounced!!! Hendrickson said they changed banks and it was the banks fault, Yeah right! What a load of CRAP!
If you don't put money in your account, yes even when you change banks, your going to bounce checks!

:biggrin_25510:Yes, he was dealing with that BIG FAT COW in payroll!!!
It took him two months to get things settled. :biggrin_25510:

I understand there is a class action lawsuit with about 20-25 employees does anyone have any info about this?

    DutchManaFlyin Thanks this.
