Ours are governed at 60 mph for regional and dedicated and 65 for long haul, we are one of the three biggest companies in the world. 65 is what the last company I drove for had them set at. Just my 2 cents worth.

I always offer when I see truckers heading for one and would be nice to be able to expect the same but sadly this is often not the case. I run hwy 20 from Dubuque to the Rockford area twice a day for the most part in the summer and the cops on this stretch in IL are bad. It's nothing to see 6 to 8 state and county on a single run and most of them are just dying to nail a trucker. I see them with big trucks pulled over every single day. Also in IL where the speed limit is 65 for cars it's 55 for trucks. Just another way to get in our pockets and support their economy. Be nice if more truckers stepped up and helped each other out.
85 in Texas?!?! -
Illinois didn't raise the speed limit on the non-interstate routes like they did on the interstates? I can't say much, the EPA made the state split the speed limits around here too.
-
Il seems to be on top of their speeders. I cross into Il twice a day on 270 and there is state patrol car or an evil canival setting there 95% of the time inthe first 4 miles. I get off at exit 6 onto 111 and its always crawling with city kittys. Maybe they are running off the lot lizards at the ####y J.
-
Nope. Not all of the interstate is raised either. I90 changes back to 55 for trucks when you get near the chicago suburbs. Or maybe the signs just aren't down yet. In any case I wasn't taking any chances when over that way this winter and promptly slowed my ### back down.
Not only that but they used to let trucks slide at 65 in the 4 lane between Freeport and Rockford but not anymore. Trucker got popped doing 61 there the other day so once again I slowed my ### down to 59 through there. -
You know, I seem to remember reading that about the suburbs, I haven't been on the toll road up there in years. I can live with pretty much whatever speed limit, what I can't stand is uneven enforcement. I haven't had a problem around here as long as I keep it under 70 (the old speed limit) and I've been clocked at that a couple of times and didn't even turn their head. Seems like Illinois has always had a reputation of being inconsistent with what they'll tolerate, sounds like it's no different now.

It depends whos asking, if a Driver is asking, sure, if its a 4-wheeler or an RV, no. Not trying to be rude or anything but I think to many in the 4-wheelers have watched to many movies like Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit or too many episodes of Dukes of Hazard.
-
When was the last time you saw a RV reach speeds beyond 50 mph? -
I still think the correct answer is "Shouldn't have to ask."
