I have been pulling a flat since Sept now and I will be honest and tell you that I still have troubles every once and a while with my judgement on backing into a hole. I have a dump valve on my truck and use it everywhere I see needed. You just have to practice and dont get frustrated. O yeah remember GOAL, Get Out And Look. Who cares what driver is pissed because your taking your time and getting out, they can wait a couple of minutes for you. Dont let anybody hassle you about it either.

My dump valve deflated the front axle, so all weight was on the rear axle.

I ran a pete that had a dump on the trailer. Axle 5 had the dump on mine. You have to watch your swing and remember to drop your tag. That is one way to get a expensive overweight by forgetting.

I gotta disagree with this! I used to have to back a stepdeck ISO container chassis into a pit, and let me tell you, when that rear axle unloaded as it started down the slope, the pivot point dang sure changed! Guaranteed to make you look like a rookie if you weren't expecting it.

If your not dumping the axle you pivot on will be determined by the terrain your on.

How much weight does everyones dump switch take off the dumped axle? Mine dumps the rear axle and on a scale it takes about 4000lbs off the rear axle is all. Still scrubs like a SOB but does keep the front axle the pivot point. Empty the rear bags will be flat when I dump it.
