Welcome to the forum. It's kinda like this... you find a company which pays for your schooling, or does their schooling in-house, you're bound to that company for a good while. Why not go through a private program, not affiliated with any companies, and put your GI Bill to use? The post 9/11 GI Bill is much more substantial in that regard than it was previously. Unfortunately, it wasn't until... 2005, I believe, when all that went into effect.. I received an $800 payment from the GI Bill when I took my CDL course in 2002... suffice to say the course cost a whole lot more than $800. Now, the GI Bill can cover the whole thing.

Keep in mind, truck driving experience in the military does not count as truck driving experience in this industry. It'll give you an advantage over a fresh newbie, but if you have 2 years driving in uniform that doesn't mean you have 2 years experience otr.
When I was in training we had an Army recruiter (i dont know why) come and talk to us about driving in the military and he tried to say that experience overseas would count. it doesn't. -
thanks for all the help.
