At least he has no more suffering or pain. Let him RIP. He was trucker version of Phil Harris. Always willing to help someone out and give advice no matter the time of day. He was well liked, told people how it was and lived his dream. The world just lost a good person and one of the few people who helped pioneered the industry. He taught us many lessons on here. The one I remember was never give up and pay cash for everything.

I may not have agreed with everything SP had to say, but I saw his manner and writing style as one of the most forthright and no-BS of any I've seen here. The man had something to say and he said it without apology and without shame. He never waivered from his position on any subject....which is the truest sign of an honest man. For this honesty and strength, he will ever have my respect. Hoka-Hey, SP. You chose your own time.

It is said the wind blows hard when a great spirit has passed. Well, it's been blustering like , well, like the wind coming in the windows of a Pete rolling 75mph, since last night and all day so far today. It's the airwash from the feathers of the angels who have come to guide SP on his way to his new ride.

Dino, may the Grandmothers show you comfort in your sorrow and the Grandfathers show you strength to carry such a huge torch as that you were passed by SP. His knowledge lives in you. Rest now. You've done your part in this phase. There will be plenty to do later, when it's time to pass that knowledge forward. But for now, rest.

I'm sad to hear the news, but in a way I'm glad southernpride's pain is now gone. He has endured alot his final days. The man is a truck driver legend and heaven will be overjoyed with his presence. I ask god to give mrs. sp and family comfort and the strength to move forward with peace and happiness. A special thanks to you dino for being there. You definately made a difference in two peoples lives and I'm sure there will be more. RIP southernpride!

southernpride's last post says it all...
