If only I had that problem....
And of course, remember, if you go blind, it is just a side effect of the Viagra too.

I'm 28. When I was 25, my doctor randomly took my bp, and nearly hit the roof when my BP was 160/100. partly genetics, partly my weight. I've always been active, but kinda heavy, i'm not fat by any means, but i have more of a pony keg than a six pack...
so after 3 years, I've lost 40 pounds, and just yesterday my doc cut my bp meds in half, as my result was 128/78. another 10 pounds and i'll weigh 185 and not need to take these anymore. My wife is a Pharmacist, and has advised me that the drug I'm taking, Atacand, has been around for a while, and is as safe as aspirin. After 3 years on a 16mg/day dose, i have had ZERO side effects, except lower bp.
here is some info on atacand: http://www.medicinenet.com/candesartan/article.htm -
I suppose a fear of physicians and prescriptions could sort of be a phobia, like being afraid of the dark, or enclosed spaces, or heights or anything else.
I certainly can't throw any stones at folks who have these phobias, as I have a few phobias of my own. But fearing the medical community is really detrimental to a person.
OTOH, nobody should just blindly believe anything that any doctor tells them. Even if it is your long time family doc that you trust implicitly. Doctors (and pharmacists,) are human too. As such, they miss things, they can make mistakes just like all of us can.
So listen to your doctor. But verify. With all the help on the internet, there is a lot of knowledge out here. Of course that too, you have to be careful of, as there is a lot of BS masquerading as knowledge.
But if you have something serious going on with you, for heaven sakes, get a second and maybe a third opinion.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
So.................can a guy even have a beer or glass of wine, while on any down time or are reg's and policies so stringent to not?

Lots of threads on drinking/DOT requirements... this one's about weird stuff like drinking pickle juice to drop your BP for a physical.
simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
fair enuf. i'll look into.

This thread has taken a turn but either way I am getting a chuckle out of what people are saying.

I just get a real kick out of all the home remedies and old wive's tale's potions people use to try to cover up drug use.
I'll own a regular business again before too long, just taking time to do the consulting thing. When I do, and I find out someone in my employ is using drugs, I'll make sure they're prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law..no breaks, no good ol' boy routine, nothing. You risked MY business, MY family, YOUR job, YOUR family, the safety of the people you work around, the general public, etc... and you're going to fry for it.
And I'd do the same thing if you were caught drinking on the job.
And don't worry, you'd be breifed on my policies when applying, along with my policy on "calling out".simplyred1962 and rocknroll81 Thank this. -
Well maybe I should have been happy with the guys drinking pickle juice and mustard at least they were trying. The guy today, with diabetes, decided to have pancakes with syrup, orange juice, and a few donuts before his physical today. So umm sugar in the urine creates a problem. On the way to the bus terminal, after finding out he can't get a medical card with uncontrolled diabetes he picks up a candy bar. Unreal.
So not quite an at home remedy, just plain stupid. -
I can't believe ANYBODY is really that stupid. I don't know what his "game" was, but obviously, he had no desire to pass his physical. . .
An excuse to sit on his fat rear end, perhaps?simplyred1962 Thanks this.
