yep, 10 speeds, and some automatics...run pretty much the eastern half of the country, well, the I35 corridor, maybe a little further west. really the only local jobs they have are around the yards as far as i know of. they haul flatbed cargo. Steel (flat, coiled and beams), lumber, shingles, sheetrock, anything else they can strap or chain down. I have hauled hay a few times out of west/central Kansas.

Hey cruise, I think it doesn't expire. Or may b two years. Mine is in trk so couldn't b accurate.

M2k, there r more n more local jobs available n comin available. They r gettin into intermodal raildeck trailers real heavy. We already have yards in Chicago, Memphis, LA, n couple more. Theyre tryin to expand with Norfolk southern along east coast. Don't get hope up to much though. Take a lil time.

He is still enjoying it. But he does complain about missing out on the kids a lot though :p He really wants to find something local so he can be home more, but most places around here want you to have a year or two of experience for consideration. There are several options for when he does get that time under his belt though...

I'd say of everything Boyd transports, steel coils are his least favorite. From the way he talks they are a lot of work when you have several...

Glad he's enjoying it for most part. I know how it us when u have kids. I have three n one u don't see but every other weekend. The coils r bout my favorite thing to yank. I guess case so many people hate them. Lol. They're a pain sometimes to get tarped but once u do it a lot u kinda get hang of it, n hauling more than one it does get aggravating sometimes. Keep me posted n if he has any questions just shoot.

We have joked about it kinda being like a divorced couple, only his child support is his WHOLE check. LOL. But in truth the best part about him being gone is there is a lot less laundry and dishes to wash :) And he of course likes not having the blanket stolen from him at night when he out. While there are some cons to him trucking there are def. some pros.

Does anyone know if they hire out of Florida? I think I know the answer to that, not many flat bed companies hire out of Florida.

Pretty sure they will hire someone from anywhere, you just have to go to whichever terminal they assign you to. One of Josh's trainers lives in Florida. I'm not sure what they are doing right now as the Alabama terminal was damaged in the tornados last week.
