Call a recruiter I am over on my BMI, LOTS of guys I have seen are and worse then me. I know a guy who was a 43%, they had him do a sleep study onsite here and he will find tomorrow or Tuesday about sleep apnea and becoming a member of the Prime team. I have found if you are willing to do leg work for the job they are willing to work with you. I could have been sent home last week due to my medical stuff but since I have been working to resolve I am still here, doing 1 last thing in the morning and I should be on the road with my trainer who arrived today.

FINALLY hitting the road tomorrow. I spent 4 hours at concentra to handle my medical issue, got all completed came back to Prime Terminal the Millennium building at lunch, got called from Orion the onsite medical group approved and processed rest of way through. My buddy being a lease operator had to run out a load and will be picking me up tomorrow afternoon or evening and off I go for 20k miles. I talked to Matt in Orientation and got the ok to hit the lease class myself tomorrow or I can do the Smith System, pretty cool stuff to get a class or 2 completed before I return in 20 days or so. I am VERY impressed with these guys they worked with me all the way, covered the hotel as well as my meals ALL weekend and gave me 3 more coupons to cover tonight, and tomorrow breakfast and lunch. I will update from the road as I can using PDA-Net while on the road. Good luck all and be safe.

If I were you, I'd go for the Smith System tomorrow. You may have a different perspective when you get done with your 20k miles, and have some questions that may need answering before signing your lease - so the lease class could wait. Drop by the leasing office, and ask them for a sample copy of the lease before you leave with your trainer. I wouldn't call it "good reading," but the more you know it the better off you will be.

I could not get into Smith System today they said it needed to be within 30 days of going solo and since we are not sure how long it will be, I assume it will be short but you never know. I swung by lease and they said they did not have a copy of a blank lease so I will try again tomorrow before we leave. Trainer got delayed on load so leaving out tomorrow. I am happy I only have the Smith System and the driving test once I get this 20k done left. I completed EVERY other class while I was here company and lease. I spend time talking with several drivers and I am still in the air deciding what I want to do. Be safe everyone.

Ok I should be out of Campus Inn today, Eric my buddy will be coming through with a steel load headed south. I spent a bit of time this morning with U2Exit and Sazook as they were waiting for their trucks to come out of shop. I saw a desk it had Iron Pony I was told it was for ironpony from this board, I did not get a chance to meet him. LOL :) Anyway some great peeps work here been nice getting to know a few and actually SEE their trucks and know they ARE NOT recruiters they just like the company, I have heard good and bad and appreciate the candid honesty. So hoping by this afternoon we will be out of here and headed south he should be through in a few hours.

Although it's a little late, did you manage to get any photos of the trucks they have out there for you to practice with? Or pictures of the training/orientation stuff? :) Good luck out there!

I did not go out to the training pad since I did not need to. The trucks are same as any ol Prime truck same with the trailers. I had a few pictures from the SIM lab but they are too big to upload here to TR. ZiBop if you are thinking about these guys I say 110% YES I have been with another carrier and they were awesome I just like the fact of newer better equipment here as well as the pay.

If you could upload the pictures of the sim that'd be neat :D I'm already talking to a recruiter about signing up. Just need to tie up some loose ends on my side of things and most likely I'll head to orientation in a few weeks. But only time will tell! I've also been getting some contact from Con-Way, but am unsure about them since they don't offer reefer. :/

Had a guy posting on our other list go to Conway (he jumped from Prime - didn't like being gone and wanted local to a couple of other places, then Conway) - did quite a bit of cargo shleping, sweeping and general drudgery before they put him in a seat. Be warned...
