    Hey yall!
I am thinking about opening a business on the side of being in the military. I would like to start polishing wheels, tanks, fenders...anything chrome/stainless!! What are the going rates, the good and bads (service-wise) and what other ideas could you help with? Ie: in addition to polishing, Im thinking about offering a service to run in town and pick up needed items (paid upon delivery)...I know it can be tough, and you can't always get what you need from the truckstop!! (or at a reasonable price for that matter!) Anyway, I would appreciate all and any ideas yall could throw my way!! Thank you, and I aapreciate the job that yall do! You truly keep this country running!

Some of these polish guys that I have talked to work out of an rv type veh, their own gen etc. some just park around ,some pay a small tk stop to be there so much a month, and some i have seen are running two person crews, the better ones have a good looking lady cleaning the inside and a guy doing the outside polishing wheels, they charge from 5 to 20 a wheel and 10 to 20 for a fuel tank, depending on if they have already been cut, smoothed and just need a polishing or touchup. I have seen and had done, crews doing the tire specs with colored laundry waterproof markers on the outside of the tires matching the colors to the truck, they get 35 to 50 to do all the outside tires on the truck, really looks great if done right.detailing a truck right takes alot of time but if you take pictures of what your work starts out like and your finished product,it will sell itself. Not many of these operators are smart enough to do it right, you really need an album of all your good work like a painter or tatooer,it sells his work.lots of money to be made, especially in the south and west where the nicer trucks park. A great place to start a business like this is adjacent to a good truck wash, not hard to sell when that driver or owner has just had his or her truck washed. It would be woth it to pay for the space you use. Good luck, thats what I would do to start.
