Hey folks...havent been here in a bit, and since I AM a driver for CRST, let me share some things with y`all
I am sitting in my truck at this very moment. in past 4 days, we have had 2 dispatchers, driven 1200 miles. I am with a recent "Grad" from CRST and feel like a trainer at times. They dont do a very good job of training most of their srudents, then just throw em in a truck and let them experience for themselves. I have been here 6 months now, and now that Im making .32/mile (first few months suked, hardly any money!), I am not getting the miles I used to, it could be cause of new dispatcher, him getting to know us, etc...maybe..
If your going to Fontana for Orien...bring disinfectent! LOL Its a literal HOLE IN THE WALL! Its gross! I wouldnt shower there with someone elses body...lol!
They could care less about you, your a NUMBER, not a person, I am normally a very positive person, friendly, but they have dealt with so many "students" I think they are de-sensitized to being personable...from ppl at the terminal to main cedar rapids terminal. If you have to call someone,, GOOD LUCK! If you call anyone other than your dispatcher, you usually get treated nasty, if you tell them your driver ID, they will tell you to call your dispatcher and then just hang up on you...lol this has happened numerous times to me...
They wont pay for tolls very often. I had a load going from Buffalo to JFK in Queens.
It was 300= miles, but it took us 14 hours because they sent us on these back country roads instead of the turnpike, I mean, I was passing Amish horse drawn carrigaes for cryin out loud...lol! it was a joke, they would rather pay you to drive hours then dip in their own pockets for a $30 toll! We had to SPLIT 350 or so miles between us for that trip of 14 hours...do the math.. and see how much that is per hour.LOL! What am joke!
If I had to do it all over, I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER WORK FOR CRST!!!
I had my license when I went there, but since I was out of a truck for 2 monthsm they made me sign a contract, a "refresher", so Im stuck for another 1 1/2 months here...soon to be done and NEVER LOOK BACK!!!
Good luck to all who have signed on, and if your thinking of signing on...think very hard!!! you can go to school on your own and then get a non contract job with Gordon, Werner, Central, Schnieder, etc without having to sign a contract!! -

To respectfully quote you recently while you still hard stars in your eyes:
09.08.2010
You have 45 days (approx) to go. Hang on.
Next time for $30.00 toll..... or country roads...just pay it. You have circa 45 days more of the nightmare. Don't take the chance of clipping something on some dogpath and letting CRST attempt to destroy you on DAC. (They love that threat, and will do it.)
REMEMBER! Home time AND looking for a new co-driver, time still counts towards the end of your contract. Pssst...get it?
