Let's hear your experience but stay anonymous if you prefer.

    I'll start,

Best place - I haven't worked there yet?

Worst; Custom Trux and Equipment, Ridgetown, ON, too many things to even begin a list, just don't ever work there.:biggrin_25513:

Nobody wants to complain? That's unusual. Maybe we Canucks are just all happy, happy.
Be a good place for nubs to get some idea of what their getting into good or bad.

    All right Alright!!

Northern Industrial Carriers is the WORST outfit on the planet. Their motto is to screw you over. You can screw them too if you are fast enough. But you will get screwed on pay on days off on anything you can think of. You are a source of revenue for them. Nothing more. If you work for them you will spend most of your time sitting around waiting for a load If you quit you'll probably lose a couple weeks pay. And your vacation pay too

Canadians are not known for their griping. Normally, we just choose to stop going to places that piss us off.

And they also own Beaver Transport out of Kamloops and Loadstar out of Edmonton.

When Simon senior was making junior, he left out the brain cells.

Stay away from Big Freight Systems and Can-Am West. You are just part of the truck to them, not a person.

Sorry to dissagree but a few big companies are controling the media in Canada.

Let me explain, for about the past year, some of us who are tired (fed up) of complaining we decided to let out publicly what was wrong with trucking.

In another forum, we explained and described the situations that were the most irritating, all of those were documented so no BS.

Intimidation by some dispatchers, discrimination based on age etc things that are usualy not talked about.

All we wanted to do is tell the newbies who are getting into the trade what to watch for and not accept the BS that companies are feeding us.

Well let me tell you, we have been realy hit from every sides.

First, a few of the forum members were defending the companies very hard.
Of course it helped that some of them are personal friends of the company owner and the others were for most admirers.
Most of our postings were ridiculized or threads were highjacked to divert from what we were talking about.

then the more we got out thoses innaceptables situations the more our freedom of speach was taken away from us by the site administrators and moderators.
Hey I call the companies owner "vampires" and guess what? the word VAMPIRE was banned by the moderators because the company owner was not happy about beeing called a vampire.

Anyway when they realized that they didnt have any arguments to prove we were wrong, the next step was to ban us from the forum in order to prevent us to spread those awfull things about this marvelous company.

I strongly suspect that the lawyers from the trucking company involved sent a few letters to the sites administrators, but that's my feeling and I could be wrong.

What is not a feeling and did happen is that I was a writer in a canadian publication since about 2003, my boss knew about it all the time is a big client (pages of publicity in the mag).

Guess what again? I was no longer needed because "a customer" complained. I wonder who it was LOL.

Each time they see anything negative writen about them, it will be canned right away.

When was the last time that an article was writen in a Canadian magazine about the real problems in trucking?
not just talking about how drivers are jumping from companies to another creating havoc to those poor companies but when did some of those magazines ask WHY drivers are doing that?

I think that theres a little trucking mafia in place in Canadian trucking.

Oh and sticking to the thread, I was at challenger motor freight for 15 years, it WAS a good place to work for ... a while ago but now, as drivers, your just warm meat holding the steering wheel.

Like any OTR companies these days, they say that your social, family life is improtant but act like you dont even exists.
and IF you dare to complaint about them....

I just want to confirm that what Ratfink have say previously is correct, I can confirm everything. I've also been ban fromthe other site without a notice, just because I was also describing what's going on at challenger, but you can't you disturb the precious image of the compagny by saying the thruth. That must be the new FREEDOM of expression in southwestern ontario!!!:biggrin_2551:

where as i didn't agree with yours and the others being banned and the constant changing of the rules and inconsistent application of them. i agree if a company is treating drivers like garbage or are shady operators that others should be told so they can hopefully avoid them. but there is not freedom of expression on a privately owned site, the owners or admins control the content, that is reality. where as i don't agree with their handling of the situation it is their site to do with as they please.

    Mule Bleue Thanks this.

yes I agree with you about privately owned site BUT like you said, constant change of rules just to make shure no BS was coming out.

If they want to be called a "trucking site" then let your participant express themselves.

If they want to protect the companies and hide the thruth about what's realy going on, I have no problem with this BUT again advertise as such.

Drivers who are trying to communicate and warn other drivers against arnt welcome.

You know? if our rantings were directed at a company that was owned by imigrants or lets say punjab speaking people, I'm ready to bet that we would have had all the place in the world to express ourselves. (sorry my english isnt that good I dont know how to say this without sounding racist)
But the intimidation, the discrimination cases we brought up are real, what realy irritated them was we dared to point fingers at a good old boy from a southern Ontario owner.

Got to be consistent here, want to denounces bad practices???, well it doesnt matter the race, the language or how many awards the owner has accumulated thru the years.
    Awards dont impress me.
