What were the tests like? Did you have to do some 90 degree alley dock?

Heck no, they have you go around a set course with the instrictor with the only thing that is difficult is a button hook right turn, then the backing is between 2 concrete barriers back to a line with the DOT bumper over it, the only request is that you start the backing at an angle to the drivers side, no problem at all they ask that you het out and look 3 times. Hope the helps. TD24

They have you do a 45 degree alley dock. It's easier than the 90.

Wulf, what have you decided to do? I would go get some experience and then go to Lancaster and sail thru there, I told you one of the guys in my orientation got sent home on friday right? We were about 2 hours from getting our trucks and he had lied on his job history, well they found it and he had a few OOS at this place and since he had lied he was sent back to northern Cali on the bus.. he was my room mate in the hotel room and he was a bit odd, we were in a non smoking room and he would open the window and stick his head out and smoke that way,

Hi everybody. I have been speaking with the ConWay recruiters. I may be coming aboard. I do have a question though. Can anybody tell me a realistic number as far as miles per week? I live in the west, if that makes any difference. Thank you!

    I can do a 90 pretty well. So a 45 shouldn't be all that different, I'm assuming.

Do you stay out that long by choice? We send two pulls per day up to Springfield from my terminal in Southeastern Pa using two other carriers. Not saying you want them, but it irritates me in general when I see/hear T/L drivers need miles or time at home knowing what we send out vs what Truckload gets. I would much much rather see TL get the pulls out of here if we're gonna load vans.

Yes, I stay out that long by choice .We can highlight for home after 8 or ten days to go home ..As far as the TL loads go it depends on the trucks we have in the area to cover those loads and if we dont they go to other company.. I have never had a problem getting back home.....On another note i didnt know you worked for con-way frt..I wanted to work for the one near me ..They told me i would have to load the trucks and then if needed i would drive .I could be there 6 months to a year b4 I saw the inside of truck. Was that the same with you..
