Son of a trucker, here are my answers to your questions, I have been working here for a while and hope this helps

What are the miles like for a company driver these days? I don't do too bad, over winter it's always slower but I guess I average 2500 a week, some much better, some worse.

Can someone tell me if they route you or can you pick your own route as long as you get it there on time? They tell you to pick the "shortest" route, but don't route you. So as long as you keep it reasonable they don't say anything

I am assuming hometime is the standard 1 day for every week out? this is where they do good, minimum time out 12 days, 2 off, 18 out, 3 days off, 24 and 4 off, so a little better than average

Is there much freight in the Texas area? I am babysitting a load here in Cali until later today, then I am off to the greater Dallas area, and yes we do have a bit going there

Son of a Trucker Thanks this.

    Thanks for answering

Also about the trucks, are allowed inverters or do they have APU's?

    Are they governed at 62?

All of Henderson trucks have APUs and yes you can have an inverter. The new 2011s all have built in inverters.

They are supposed to be governed at 62 with a fuel incentive which will give you 65. But there seems to be some range on what individual trucks will do, some more, some less. But at the least you should get the 65 as long as your fuel mileage stays up.

henderson has company drivers. 47 cpm for teams. lease pays 94 cpm. they are trading the older columbias in to troy frightliner and getting the new 2011 cascadias. as the older 09 cascadias reach certain miles they too will go to trade. new trlrs are here and more coming. looking at t660 kw for company trucks. 2 are being ran now to see how they do.

been here since nov 2010. we have had ups and downs as lease drivers, but we have worked it out. they have listend and fixed alot of things that just wasnt right.

go company first to find out how you like it. can not go back to company after being lease driver.

ask me anything, i will tell you the good and bad honestly.

    hi
i am thinking of going with these guys, and just want to know if they keep you busy in the west?
i live near clackamas so that would be home terminal
also wondering what they pay starting solo drivers?i drove in the late 70's early 80's but they told me that driving horse and buggy didn't count.
    do they have heavy haul?
i haven't heard anyone bashing them so it looks like a good co. any way.any other 411 not covered here would be helpful.

well i went with a lease owner that has a small fleet.
i love it here.compared to the other companys i had a prehire with ,there is no comparison.no b.s. rules, no bad attitudes with dispatch, avg. 3000 mi./wk ,every driver i have talked to has been happy .compare that to any other company.i have talked to many drivers for other co.s that hate their employers, not so here.
the 2012 cascadias are nice but i've heard the KW,s are better.i hope they go with the KW,s
oh and 70 mph and 7-7.5 mpg is great
