Florida used to be a good market, but the economy took a nose dive. As far as I know, Werner, Swift, Prime, PAM, as well as a few others are on hiring freezes in FL. I ended up moving out of Florida to get a job.

Cypress is a flatbed company out of Jax. They take on students. (or last I checked on them they did)
Also check out MacKenzie Tank Lines, I believe they may still take students but my info is a little out dated.

'olhand said: ↑This is true. Finding a dry load going into Florida was never a issue, but finding a load going out of Florida was always a challenge. Most of Floridas freight issues can be contributed to its geographical location. It got bad enough to where I finally said the heck with it and moved to Indiana.THBatMan8 said: ↑Ok I was thinking actual truckload dry freight--specialty stuff is different--since in terms of dry truck load(even LTL-for the most part)Florida has NEVER been a good outbound stateClick to expand...Click to expand...

hell can't even say that anymore--median age is now something like 38--but as a 5th generation Floridian--I can tell you that other than perishable there has never been any outbound freight here--and since they have been growing condos on cornfields here for the last 20 years--not much good perishable anymore either--with a few notable exceptions123456 said: ↑If you could haul 'ol farts...................
