S'ok, Ms. Nana. I don't think we need to worry here. Swift probably won't have him back if that's his attitude. Not too often a driver gets hired back anyway. Have to have left with an excellent record to even be considered for rehire. This person is now an experienced driver. It will be even more difficult to be hired back. Hope al his ducks are in a row. Swift is very choosy about drivers with experience.

If 25cpm is all that is expected with a claimed 6 yrs experience, something's not right.

I'm curious as to what's wrong with his "attitude". Funny how its only swift drvers who say that because god forbid someone doesn't like your wonderful company. Maybe its his only option right now and he has to survive somehow.

I don't care if he doesn't like Swift. WhatI care about is a person working ANYWHERE that he/she doesn't think is a good place. That person has the strong potential to not be his/her best in the unhappy situation.

I will say that of course it's Swift drivers who feel this way. We work for the company, we have a vested interest in whether another driver will be an addition or a negative.

And further more, I have at no point insulted that man nor said anything that most people would perceive as such. most people

I find it "funny" how people who enjoy insulting Swift get their panties all in a twist when someone speaks with a differing viewpoint.

Now why would Swift be choosy about experince drivers? Idk I'm standing outside the window looking in, but I would think if your a company known for hiring newbies, I would think if they are able to hire an experince driver that would be a badge of honor?

Only way I would think an experince driver would have a disavantage at a trainning company like swift, is if their dac isn't the healthiest.

Look, something is wrong here. Almost all of the big companies have the same hiring standards and some of the small companies that advertise are even more lenient. So either, a) Baz is not exactly trying to find a job, (unless you are a train wreck, a day spent on the phone and Internet will yield literally dozens of companies willing to hire you)

Or, B) the guy has burned his bridges everywhere else. If that is the case, then you would think that someone who has so few options, but "has to survive" would be grateful to at least get a chance with someone!

Why do so many people in the US think the country and the businesses owe them something? Only thing you are owed is a chance. And most people get lots of them! It's what they do with them that matters.

Baz, if Swift is truly the only company that will have you then there is a reason. But you could take that chance and make the most of it and in 2-5 years can likely go anywhere you want. Or not. Your choice. Which is another benefit of living in this country. You can choose to succeed or you can choose to fail.

Good luck and count yourself lucky. Somewhere there is a man laying awake wondering how to feed his family in this nice inflation ridden economy who would love to have the chance to work at Swift or any other of the so called "sh--y companies.

IT's probably because they figure it's easier to teach a newbie their system than try to "unlearn" a veteran and then teach them the "SWIFT SYSTEM"

Now when I was in cdl school, we had a recruiter from TMC pretty much said that, they would rather hire a person out of driving school then an experience driver.

I guess every companys feel their policy is the gold standard

Just think, 6 more years and you can make .18/mile. :)

The reason companies throw out low numbers for driver pay is because there are actually drivers out there that will do it. You are not just hurting yourself. You are hurting your fellow driver by helping lower wage standards for truck drivers.

McDonalds is having a hiring event today. They are hiring some 50,000 burger flippers. You can make the same money there and be home every night. Plus free meals.

Condo, if this guy hires in with 6 years experience, he will not be starting at 25cpm. That's brand-newbie rate and only paid for a month. Newbies are getting 31cpm at the end of the year. I believe a driver with this experience gets ...38cpm?? But he wouldn't be starting at 25.

I wish I had a pay rate sheet. I would post all the numbers so y'all could see for yourselves. It's by far not the greatest, but it is also by far not the worst. And Swift's checks don't bounce.
