Any tips on how to do this? I just had a truck assigned a few days ago and it is a complete POS. 500,000 miles, filthy inside and out, and stinks to high heaven. Cigarette odor almost knocks me off my feet when I get in. Must have been one of the raunchiest drivers ever that had it before me.

Talked to my terminal manager this AM and he just blew me off. I even told him I'd go from regional to 48-state if he could help me.

This is my third time with Werner, and I got a pretty decent truck each of the other times I joined. I'm so PO'ed about this, that I may QUICKLY move to another company. I don't want to do this, but my loyalty goes only so far......

    Cheers

I managed to get a decent truck out of them after they attempted to put me in a torn up Classic. The interior was covered with some sort of pet hair, so I went inside and said I was allergic to pet dander. 20 minutes later I had a better truck. If I hadn't done that I would of been forced to drive that nasty #$$ classic.

They gave my son a pos truck too.Allentown terminal worked on it for a week, then he had to take it to Carrier to get the APU fixed, then another day shot at Peterbuilt dealer. He ran it for 5 days and at the main terminal in NE they put it into a level one saftey inspection where they found mutiple problems with it,it's probably still sitting there because 17 trucks were ahead of his, waiting for service. So don't feel bad, they do it to a lot of people. Oh and he got terminated in NE but that's a whole nother story.

Originally your story was "His truck is an older Peterbuilt,APU and everything else is working as it should."

Then "Oh and he got terminated in NE " and his truck was suddenly a POS.

If you don't smoke tell them that the Cigarette odor really bothers you and that every time you turn the fan on it's like someone is sitting in there smoking .. I've done that in the past and it worked for me..

This is your third time with Werner, but you are loyal???? I don't understand why you would have quit the first time if they were a bad company. I also don't understand why you keep coming back? It seems to me that if they are a good company that you would have stayed. Since you are on your third round with them that you should have a good idea of how to get into another truck or get the one you are assigned fixed.

At 1 time WERNERS trucks were the top of the list , detailing shop at Head Office was top notch.

Having driven for them years back , my son drove for them , bought used WERNER tractors always had a clean truck when assigned or upgraded.

My daughter was killed in a car accident and then a year later my wife was diagnosed with cancer. Would you not have taken time off for either one of those situations??

Do you have any helpful advise? My son doesn't read TR and could care less about the negative comments you post here.I log onto TR when I'm not at my full time job to look for information that may be of use to him. So again do you have any useful information ?

I am sorry to hear about your difficulties. I hope your wife an daughter are doing better. I don't know if I would have taken time off or not. I suppose it would depend on the situation. One still has to work. I would not second guess your decision. I have had to take a lot of time off from my work due to my wife being ill, so I am sympathetic to your situation. Had I not owned the business it would have been difficult to have held onto a job.
