OK so I have this question I currently have (A) class, but im taking my PE next week, set up the appointment today, but im taking my road test on a 20,000 26 passenger bus, now the guy told me that was a class (C) vehicle, my permit says class (B) on it, now will i be able to driver a charter bus in the future or do i have to take another road test with a heavier bus? I live in the state if Rhode Island. im a bit confused by this.

will you need a bus endorsement?a class A will be fine to drive with Passendorsement
-
so as long as I have a class A with the passenger on my license I can operate any size and weight bus correct?
-
Correct........................
-
That does depend on the rule of your state. Here in CA, whatver size van/bus you test in, is what your maximum size allowable vehicle is.
-
I was told that it doesn't matter, is like testing for your CDL -A on a 28' pup and driving a 53' trailer. the P Endorsement will still be on your A class license.
-
You need a passenger endorsement operating any vehicle that can carry more than 15 people. A school bus requires another endorsement. Class A license will only cover the weight and airbrake part of it. So I'm told
-
Must be nice! I was going to get the P endorsement just b/c I have easy access to the 15 passenger vans...but I would be restricted to that size van until I upgraded to a larger bus and tested in it.

So,
in texas, if you pull double 28' pups.....
how many illegals can you haul ?????
-
That entirely depends if it is to or from their home country....123456 Thanks this.
