I have been at Perkins for the last 6 months. Since joing this company I have seena lot of changes. I had heard a lot of horror stories about how they cheat drivers out of pay, cause them to go bankrupt, etc...
I am here to tell you, you get out of Perkins what you put in to it. If you come to this company thinking it is like other lease purchase programs you are mistaken. You have to earn your money. You are running a business and this means you have to manage your time driving, your time home and your finances. Everything my recruiter told me was 100% true. I have had a few rough weeks however I am able to make a good living with Perkins. I have been in the trucking industry for 7 years and have seen a lot of companys. The majority of the companies do not care if you are sucessful or not. They have someone else to fill the truck right behind you. They only care about getting trucks off the fence. I have found Perkins is more than this. They want you to be sucessful. They have more freight than some of the larger companies. If you want to run and make serious money then this is the company for you. If you care more about sitting in truck stops talking with your buddies, then go some where else. For me I like what I see here and also the money I am able to make.

    Ethman Thanks this.

I too have been with Perkins for a while. I'm pleased with their operation. My settlements have increased since the beginning of the year. They pay well for the area they run in. I like their 70% pay. I don't have to worry about miles, just how much the load pays and what that breaks down to rate/mile. I've seen some weeks where I'm making over $1.40/mile.

It's a good little company. Not perfect, but I can see myself being here a long time. Very happy here.
