I think that the title probaly will say it all.
Im currently working as a nuclear security officer and have been for the last 4 years since i decided to leave the Air Force after 8.5 years of honorable service. I was exposed to the trucking lifestyle by a freind who was at the time an O/O for Barr-nunn. i immidiatley understand when people talk of the way trucking gets in your blood. i also recently have become dissilllusioned with my job and joined TTR to get some guidance as to the best way to go about getting my license and one day owning my own truck. i look forward to any and all advice.

I've been lurking on this site for about a month now. Reading not only what the ol hands have to say. But some of the new breed as well. It seems that all usually have some good advice, some just don't like it. I guess for me its that fact you succeed or fail on your own merit. The chances for success are endless if you want it enough.
No I don't have a wooden leg it is a nickname I earned in iraq. I was injured in a roadside attack. My units radio call signs were all pirate related(strange for the air force I know) I spent a few days walking around with a limp and the name stuck with me.
I thank you all for the welcome and hope to in the near future call myself a trucker and continue the traditions layed down by those who came before. (Those who were known as the knights of the road)
Be safe out there and get home to your families the same way you left.
