do they make radios with compression & amplification of

    Of incoming signals. So all voices are the same volume when heard...
    I know the technology exists, not sure if it is in CBs.

    Just starting my research for a purchase.

    Here is a good look at AGC and its history .....

    Now you will read about DSP however DSP even though you CAN use it to control volume it is used mainly to control BANDWIDTH and reduce NOISE ...The early radios like this FT-100D used it in AUDIO ONLY later radios like the TS-2000 have it at IF to control bandpass allowing you to set up the radio by adjsting how wide it receives.

    The reason you don't see it on CB sets is COST ......

    SEVERAL places make adapters/Speakers that you can add to your CB
