I will check into doin a blog, however, I am having to post with a blackberry. Having to type on this thing is a task, rereading some of my post I see some misspelled words and grammer due to big thumbs and small keys. Time to look into another laptop. Back to the subject... My recruiter said he was a former driver there after I told him it seemed that JBS had turned itself around the last year by hearing current driveres speak of the co. My only worry is not getting enough miles running regional. It does pay .45cpm but still would have to get 2k a week to work. I will call cruiter and ask if I can transfer to otr if not getting the miles running regional after a couple months.

I forgot to add that my biggest fear is the e logs.I have been running loose leaf logs for overe 2 years and a little bit on the outlaw side. I know they are easy to do, it will be my mentallity and attitude that I will need to adjust for e logs.this is the wave of the future, like it or not. I have 6 yrs left driving, otr anyway,I'm hopefull this will be my last carrier.......at least till that dam ol large car w/big fat 8'' straight pipes,280'' wheelbase,flattop,20'' flip bumper and drop sunvisor DEMON comes callin!! ....uh oh ..where did I put my medication?

Ok the test your talking about is Ergonomics test first they will messure your abilty to streach then you go in to the other room and they take your blood presure and put a heart strap around your chest and you were this watch they shows your heart rate. Next you start with a 30 ilbs box and lift it up 3x then 60 ilbs & 90 ilbs. they have a machine you push against the wall then pull. everyone in my class passed it. If anything stearch monday morning before Don picks you up. the motel you stay at is Americas best value. Its a slight upgrade to motel 6. As far as sticker go you can't put that on your truck.

Maybe he is getting a little more thorough training at Stevens.Your basing your training on what time of the day you get off.You pull long days out here, its not a nine to five.Sounds to me like he is getting a little better acclimation to whats gonna hap out here than you, just mt two cents. So whose better off, your half ### training,or Stevens thorough training. And yes Im a trainer.

Or maybe the training class is smaller therefore requiring less question and answer time... or maybe they leave the real life training aspects to the TRAINER that will be teaching the actual work part??? Maybe Stevens is a slower paced environment... hmmm, lot's of different reasons so far, certainly better then calling anyone's training half***ed don't you think??? Esp from a TRAINER!!!

I think thats half the battle right there. If you can convince yourself that it is easy to learn and your WILLING to learn it and how to work the system you can get the miles no problem. I think the problem with the old dogs (no offense) is that they just don't like change.. as i've found in any profession with the long termers. They are more resistant to change than us younger lads. If you make the jump youll find its much easier, WAY less to worry about. My last company had A LOT of old timers that resented the system, but once they got on it they didn't regret it.. and actually came to enjoy it, or so I read on the unofficial forum.

On a side note, I passed thru a rest area log check station south of Fargo, ND about 3 weeks ago and this is about how the convo went...

DOT - Evening. Hows your log book look?

Me - It looks good but i'm on E-Logs if you want to see it.

DOT - Nah, thats ok... i wouldn't know what i'm looking at even if you explained it to me.. have a great day!

That seems to be the trend with DOT.. most don't even want to look at it and in 1.5 years on elogs have yet to have one DOT officer even look at it. It has its advantages.

LOL, I had a trooper pull me over in Indiana for doing 4 over the limit. He wanted to see my log book, I told him we were on elogs so he climbed up in the cab to look at the computer. He just stared at it for about 15 seconds and never even touched it or asked me to help. He then said "well, it looks good to me" All it showed on the screen was my remaining drive hours for the day. Pretty funny.

Have you seen some of the Steven's Drivers? I am not surprised it takes them longer to get through orientation!
