Hello all. Former computer support tech, transitioning through the middle of life via a stint at Sam's Club (slogging produce) and Ford (driving forklift at a couple of plants in Michigan). Ford had a better idea, and laid off all the temps they hired, so I've been laid off since May '09. With no other prospects turning up, I have turned to truck driving. I'm sitting in a hotel room attending school at the moment, and seem to be able to at least do the main part of the job; hope to get the CDL this next week, then on to orientation and driver/trainer stint, theoretically with USA Truck. LOVE this forum, with the awesome pool of information and humor. Look forward to meeting many of you here, and some of you on the road.
(So, the professor part? I can't help but go into teacher mode in discussions, although I've learned a little about when to shut up. Even substitute taught for kindergarten, 1st & 2nd just last month. It's a blessing. And a curse.)
