Thanks you Bucktrucker, my OC is in Urbandale, IA and I'll be running dedicated.
-
I wanted to pull the "orange" tankers myself. I spoke with two recruiters at Schneider, both stating "nope, only hiring teams from the Omaha, NE area"... Drag. Spent a few months at Crete and lucked out by getting a weekly gig with a local furniture manufacturer and being out now only 4-5 days at a time and home weekends. However, i did speak to a "big Richard", who was driving a big orange tanker, at a Pilot in OR and he said "BS..." when I spoke of the recruiters tale of teams only. He gave me a phone number to call and said to drop his name. ...However, I've already changed jobs once now in my 6 month CDL career. Drag. Anyway, Cutt Shark, good luck there at the pumpkin trucking and God's speed to ya!
cutt shark Thanks this. -
I think when you hire on with Schneider you apply for a route, not just to become a driver. I applied for serveral and was called for the Family Dollar account. Just keep trying atleast if you do hire on you'll be coming with more experience..good luck to you also

Which dedicated u get? Looks like I am headed to Indy the 6th May is nothing changes. As I read farther, I see you got the family dollar, I was looking into. Anyway, were you basically left to your own demise in Indy, or did instructor warn you of those button hooks? Just curious.
-
They told you about the button hooks and we went over them atleast twice in the same run so if you forgot they would tell you so you'd still have time to set up for it.

I got the the Edwardsville terminal and met my TE, his truck was in the shop so we got a loaner but it woudnt start they tried to jump it but that didnt work so they was going to pull it out with the yard truck but didnt have the attachment to air the brakes up so they tried to charge the batteries but the power in the terminal went out for about 45 minutes, then we got anohter loaner but the guy before lock the keys in the truck and we had to get another key cut after that we were on our way to Maquoketa Iowa, and now I'm back in my own bed, pulling out 5am...What a day.
Gears Thanks this. -
ya I had some problems with my physical. my doctor forgot to sign my long form and I didnt' catch it before sendng it to the pumpkin. At first they rejected it and said I would have to do a whole new physical nd I told them no way, that one was just a few weeks old, I wasn't gonna do it. then a few days later I took the form to my dr got him to sign it and resubmitted it and they approved it. so I only had to be sent for a drug test. did that and i'm going to be in indy the 2nd. actually I'm already here, my old company was decent and booked me a load here that I delivered today. Now I just sit here till sunday when I can check into the hotel and hope n pray my roomate isn't a spaz.
