I have a Grant XL (Philly) and it is DEAD. The green light, lights up, but no channel indicator....nothing. D44 is toast. I used to run a CB shop 20 years ago...but that was a long time ago, and I no longer have any equipment. Does anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this particular diode to toast out? I don't want to get rid of this radio..always been great. I've considered buying another one...but shoot....by the time I shell out the money for that...this one could have been fixed.
    At any rate...any ideas?
Worse case scenario......a GOOD shop recommendation would be appreciated.

Take a look at this. Does the fuse blow? I don't know that radio or have access to the prints so kinda shootin' in the dark.

    Thanks for the input...
Fuse doesn't blow......and radio does receive some power. I am thinking the 8-volt side of the regulator took a crap. I've found some parts I need...but not all...so I found a shop that will fix me up for about 40 bucks. I think I'm going that route....at least they have the equipment to see what is causing the short.
