Shocked isn't the word there unless he didn't have the 5th wheel fully locked, and the music BLASTING... but it ripped part of the ROOF OFF..... He has to be completely clueless......

When i Check my GPS in Chicago.. i am going about 10 mph or i Make totally SURE there isn't a bridge in front of me.... if you are unfamiliar with your surroundings the last thing you should do is speed and try and multi task..

TO me it looks like he was speeding, but i don't know i never wedged a trailer under a bridge before... ALSO! he must have been fiddling with that GPS for a while, he had to have seen that bridge in front of him or be so far back the last time he looked at the road then completely focused on the gps for WAY TOO LONG....:biggrin_25513:

"When the 25-year-old Ohio resident finally stopped his truck near the parking lot of Red's Shoe Barn, he turned around and was shocked to notice that his entire trailer was missing"

What planet was this guy on to not feel that impact?

Holy crap! Unreal. Its funny, there is a big, bright-yellow sign saying 9' on the bridge as well. Boy, he must've been real tired...OR, as I suspect, he's lying through his teeth about not knowing.

Well, that was the 'suggested' Max Clearance! ha ha That's what I call a driver that was 'focused on his driving' (like white-line fever), and not anything else!! Yeah, if you drive Chicago, better watch those train-bridge signs too...!!:biggrin_25526:

Anybody care to guess the outcome of his job status after this? I'd highly suspect that he would either be fired, or promoted to Driver-Trainer!:biggrin_25522:

People react in different ways to stressful situations. My Ex was following
one of her friends one night when a deer came through her friends
windshield and it was amazing how far she drove after that occured.
Pluss some people are conditioned to try to lie their way out of any
stressfull situation. I suspect that this was the case. It took a while
for this guy to figure out after the impact that there was no way he
was getting away with this hit and run.
