What type of trucks are Swift offering to newly graduated company drivers?

What type (VN 670, 630...)? Does she run well?

    I think it's a 670, but I'm not certain.

It has the condo sleeper, which I like because I am tall. Very roomy.

She has around 480,000 miles on her, but she still runs well. Pulls heavy loads without a problem (my mentor's truck was a '10 ProStar, and my Volvo pulls just as well), uses little oil (I've added 2 gallons in 8 weeks of driving), and is very clean inside.
Biggest complaints are the rather shaky mirrors and a broken CD player. But I can make do with a radio, and I can look past a few shakes.

Just had it in the shop in Laredo because the A/C went out. They gave me a new drive tire and a new hood (right fender which I crunched 2 weeks into solo) and even two new headlights (which were so scratched, pitted and yellowed that I dreaded driving at night) - but that was everything they found wrong with it. And they were closely inspecting each truck that came in, and most had many more problems than mine.
(I'm so glad I was not moved to a different truck, since I was in the shop for 5 days)

For new solo drivers: Volvo 670s, International Prostar midroofs and still a few Freightliner Columbias in the fleet. There have been some turn-in lease trucks making it into the company fleet as well, so you will see a few KW T2000s and T660s, but I'm not sure whether they are being issued to new drivers. They may be reserving them for teams and mentors.

I've seen Freightliner Cascadias making it into the fleet, but they are largely reserved for teams and mentors. That's perfectly fine with me. Had a Cascadia for two years. It handled nice and was overall okay to live in, just couldn't keep it on the road.

The Volvo 780s are team/mentor trucks. Unless you lease one. You might be able to weasle yourself into one on a lease.

They are pretty much holding the 780's for teams and mentors as far as L/P because of the weekly payment. It is pretty much the luck of the draw as to what is available. I received an 09 Columbia, ex owner truck, and a team that just finished being with a mentor, they got a 07 Volvo.

    That's funny. :biggrin_2559:

But you can have the left lane - just let me back into the right one
after I politely moved over to let you merge.
