Big rig barrels though building

A destructive crash on Saturday morning closed down a shopping center.
A major clean-up operation is underway after a big rig drove through a building off Highway 58 and Real Road.
Texas driver Harry Hunter was arrested by Bakersfield police for driving under the influence.
Hunter lost control and plowed into a car parked outside of a recruiting center, and into the building at the Wild West Shopping Center.
"At first I thought it was a fire, I saw the fire trucks. I had to get in my office and they said 'sorry ma'am you can't go in there,' and I looked, and all you saw was the back end of the truck, nothing else just the back end."
The Bakersfield Fire Department said just after 5 a.m. a big rig full of boxed tomatoes barreled through the intersection at Highway 58 and Real Road.
Fire officials said the big rig flew almost 50 feet, then swerved through a wall, crashing through the building.
"Without a doubt the worst case scenario we've got an incredibly heavy vehicle moving at a significant rate of speed and it plowed through a lot of embankment, vehicles, and right into a building and almost beyond the building," said Capt. Garth Milam, Bakersfield Fire Department.
Investigators said the accident was most-likely due to mechanical failure, but the incident is still under investigation.
Water and power were shut down in the building, but neighboring stores hope to re-open next week.

Well 1 good thing came out of this accident. One less careless Bad truck driver off the road. This is one reason us truckers have a bad name!!!!!
