Hey Yall, I am looking to enter the trucking industry. I am sick of the job I have now. It is boring just sitting on the boat. I do not currently have a CDL so most companies refuse to even give me a chance. I do know the basics of driving a manual transmission (yes I do also know a semi trans is different than the one in my F150, but I do at least know something) I do also have experience with bigger vehicles with airbrakes. I am a volunteer firefighter and drive the trucks a lot. One truck is 30 feet long and weighs over 30,000 pounds. (Fire departments are excempt from CDL laws) I am hopeing to find a company that will allow me to take my pet with me, at least after training. I have put in applications, but the only two offers I have are from CR England and Stevens. I will not go with Stevens because I cannot take my pet with me, I need a buddy. Other than that... I would love to travel the country.
Hey Yall

Thanks... Trying to find a company... I have received an offer from CR England, but not sure if they will pay me while I am in school, and if they will allow me to have my cat when I drive on my own...

Welcome, just remember getting a year in opens lots of doors and possibilities. Good luck with the pet thing, plenty of companies out there that will work with you on that. For many of us they are our families.
OpenRoadDreamer Thanks this. -
Thanks Kansas. I am willing to go just about anywhere for almost any length of time if I can take him with me... Everyone who has offered me a positio in says no to pets (CR England Stevens and Millis) He really is my family. I have no one else that I really talk to in person. Just trying to find a good company to learn from. If treated right, I would stay with them for my entire carear. Would having experience driving a fire truck help me at all? It does have airbrakes on it, but a stupid auto trans.
