Wow! Those guys better update their Website, because on there it clearly states in the FAQ section for "Inexperienced Drivers":

    Q. What is the cost for a driver to attend driving school?
    A. The Schneider Training Academy offers training at almost no cost to you if you remain employed with Schneider National for at least 18 months following training.

Four years!!!! Holy cow!!!!:biggrin_2554: That's a long time to sign your life away. Just how bad are they to work for if they have to have you sign a contract to stay put for four years?

Schneider trains and tests for the CDL. Their trainers are qualified third-party testers. People were exploiting this by completing the free training, and then jumping ship upon earning their CDL.

4 years? Heck; join the Army as a truck driver. You only have to give them 3 years!:biggrin_25523:

I went to truck driving school in the early 80's and it was a farce. I didn't get my license and I had to go to Rider rental to take the driving test get it. the state I went to school was not recognized in my home state therefore no license. they didn't teach much ether. I learned to back up when I got my own truck. I hear things haven't change a hole lot. my son is wanting to go to school what is a good one?

A quick revision to my earlier statements. Schneider Training Academy has since changed it's four year contract. It now varies between thirty-six months, and eighteen months.
