One of the most important things to do when you decide upon a company is to ask questions and lots of them. I worked for USA for 2 months, like I said before, they just did not give me the miles I expected. I think if I were to do it all over again in my first year I would have to say I would go with USA, only because it is less B.S. to put up with. Recent posts had said they don't pay layover or detention which is true, but all and all I would rather go with them because they will tell you this up front. Other students there had told me after schooling and training when you arrive in Vandallia they are req. to go out with a trainer for at least 3 weeks. They said they would make 100.00 for one week.(7 days) This is with trainer. I think that is a bunch of B.S. on the companies end. You deserve more than that. But if you get through the three or four weeks with the trainer, then they give you a driving test with the instructor who will drive you through the city a little and if he feels safe with you he will ask you to alley dock between cones. This is where you do not want to screw up or they will extend your trainer pay and make you go out for 100.00 a week again. Once you pass every thing they give another drug screen and give you your truck and first assignment. I lucked out because they were going to send me back to Michigan (home) because they did not have enough trucks for everybody. I told my recruiter if you send me home I will definitely look for employment else where. They did not want to loose me so they gave me a brand new international condo. From what I seen you will find the best terminal for maintenance on your unit and best terminal for different needs. I found the best terminal for me was going through the Van Buren terminal although other drivers would disagree. What ever you decide DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT go with SWIFT. I heard hundreds of horror stories about that concentration camp that they run. Hope this helps you out and answers any questions for you. That was my experience with USA. Don't ever get discouraged about any company and quit on them because they will make it extremely hard for you to find another trucking job. Good Luck to you. Feel free to ask any other questions and I will be obliged to help. Get the experience and lots of roads will open up for you.

i just quit usa no miles and low pay crapy truck and trailors my pay was between 38.00 and 400.00 i only made 600.00 one time out of 3 months they will tell you anything they will say there going to pay you for sitting and dont they didnt pay me back for half of the scale tickets i sent in and and they will give you loads that go anywhere from 10 miles to 400 miles and when you ask for a long load you get nothing thats how they are on sw reginol but i never heard anything about over the road drivers that run all 48 states they all get the best miles

been driving for 2 months now with USA i got paid 350 per week during training. the miles could be better but i think its my not using my time wisely causing that. i havent made less than 500 in a week yet. i agree though some of the trailers you pick up are junk. the terminal i like best for service is shreveport. they are quick and friendly there.

I had a bad experience with USA, left them after 6 months. The miles were low so pay was bad, too many hours of down time away from home. They didn't reimburse all my expenses (don't pay for things out of your pocket). My weekly pay usually ranged from $100-500.
Good luck where ever you go. -
what were the reasons they gave you for low miles?
-
My brother in law drove for them for a yr. The only reason he did a yr because they paid for his CDL school and he had a contract with them. He left them because he wasn't getting the miles, had to wait 1-2 days after unloading to get a load, 3-4 stops on one load, and they could never get him home when he had been out for 4-6 weeks. Their turnover rate is also 250%. That says they don't keep any new drivers. Not a company that is dependable (in my opinion).

Okay now i am confuse the title of this thread is discuss you favorite trucking company here!Where did you find their turnover stat % ?

CFI isnt a bad place to drive. u will earn 1 day off 4 evry 7 out. u will start at 28 cents a mile and get 30 after 60,000 miles. they will give you roughly 10,000 a month. they are actually required to get u 10,000 a month otherwise they catch trble. any company that takes bootcamps is gonna start u out low. Ganie transport starts at 30, i believe. I also heard some good things about US Express altho some of thier drivers complain about short runs and being used like "delivery boys". Good luck with it. Ive been with CFI for 6 months and cant complain too much.
