What do you mean by the seperator? Like the split in the turbo and manifold? That just means that it is a T4 not a T6 exhaust housing and manifold.

I know that if you have the right place that actually knows what they are doing with porting a head, you will actually see a great improvement on responsiveness and power. Just go to a website like thedieselstop.com or powerstrokenation.com and read about people porting heads and the results. A lot of guys get a faster spool up on the turbo and they also have a nice improvement on power(30HP) or so usually.

True, but some engine builders think it's better to let gases flow well both ways. Maybe it depends what type of engine but anyway the difference is barely noticeable so if you have that antireversion step you can leave it there.

There are a few big names of engine builders in the pulling world. Check into Riverside Engines (Tiffin, OH) or try Columbus Diesel Supply (Columbus, OH). CDS handles a lot of turbos and fuel systems for the pullers, but I don't know if they handle any major work like porting. If they don't do it they should be able to point you in the right direction. Within the next 3 years I hope to build a high HP C-18 with the help of Riverside Engines doing the machine work...they are very good and knowledgable.
