Good suggestions. I would, however, mention that you are more likely to be using the spray in an enclosed area, therefore you might want to rethink the "spray vs. gel" argument you made above. A spray is as likely to disable you as it is your attacker if you're in a confined space (i.e. your truck, in-between trailers, etc.). Also, sprays have a shorter "range" or length of spray vs. gels.
Do you carry?

Any way you go the best thing you can do after you slow someone down is you get away. Run, drive, what ever it takes. Remember there is nothing in your trailer worth sticking around and dieing for. -
I have a flare pistol(safety device) fires a12Ga flare.... wouldn't want to fire it at someone in the cab though!

One response out of all the rest deserves follow-up. All the clubs, knives, sprays and pure brute strength will be useless against the fool out there with a gun. The best advice is to stay out of those areas where it is most likely you will have problems with your personal safety.
I've delivered in the really dangerous parts of several major cities, and I always followed one rule: NEVER AT NIGHT!!! Truck stops are generally safer than roadside ramps and rest areas.GLS Thanks this.
