Well, I finally got my haz-mat deal done with. first I had to go in and retake the haz test. simple as hell. Then have a new license issue. Go home to get on the website for the back ground check. fill out the forms and paid it. Then the next day. Go to the office with require paper work. Finger printed. The guy then tells me that when I get the letter from the government. Hand carry it to DMV office and make sure it on there computer. He said there a few driver who had to redo the check because they were not put on DMV computers. Sure enough. I wasn't on it. Just took a few minutes and I was good to go. For the price of a haz. They sure make it a pain in the ### to get it.

I'm right there with you man, just graduated from trucking school and having no luck at all. Either they aren't hiring grads or not in my area. Michigan is apparently a bad location right now. Of course if I really wanted a job I could go the lease program. Now since I have no experience and with the economy the way it is I don't think this would be a good Idea. Right now it seems to be an owner/operators market. I am finding a lot of jobs in that category. I'm really bummed, I thought as a grad I'd have no problem getting a job. How the ##$% are you suppose to get EXPERIENCE if every one wants experience. Let's go Obama, the balls in your court now, what's ya gana do with it!!!!

Just what do you expect Obama or any other politician to do ? The government made things worse by coming up with WIA grants to put thousands more into an industry that already had thousands of more applicants than there were job openings . The carriers have newbies by the short hairs and they know it . They know they can push leases because if they say "It's this or nothing " there will be enough desperate people to take it .
