Just put in my proposal # WIA in Phoenix Arizona. My advisor told me I will be attending classes in my school 05/09/11. Won't know for certain until I get the voucher in my hand. I signed all the paper work so its a done deal. Rumor has it my group was the last. There will be no more funding for folks after 06/11. Really sad isnt it?

the problem is too many folks still laying around on their sorry ##### unemployed after completing their WIA funded education.

most people won't look for work as long as someone will still hand em' a check.

I just used a WIA Grant and completed CDL training in Illinois. I went to training every day plus it didn't effect my unemployment. They even paid me $8 a day for gas reimbursement... $8 would just barely start my pick-up but $160 is what it is...

WIA funding went off without a hitch.

In NJ it is One Stop. Truck driving jobs are not in demand in NJ so I may not be able to get the state to help with school. I will find out tomorrow.

Good luck to all of you. My county in NY only gave me $1500 leaving me on the hook for $6500. Long story short: have CDL, but no job.

    ricmillr Thanks this.
