i go with that you live in minnesota, but swift doe's have a terminal there, 11380 courthouse blvd, inver grove heights,mn. zip code 55077, its just south of saint paul, not to many trucking companys go thru the state regularly so it may be best to go with one that has a terminal there, that way they can swap loads at the terminal

Recieved a message yesterday morning from my current dispatcher.... As of next Monday (May 2nd) my new personal dispatcher will be Jeff Millis. Anyone else running under his board?
-
I *was* with my trainer; now sitting for another week waiting for a phone call..
-
Dang. Will this be 2nd trainer or 3rd?

I went through a small portion of an affected area today in Alabama. Nothing prepared me for what I saw. Seeing it on TV is one thing - seeing it first hand is a whole different thing. I was really heart broken for these people. Seeing them standing in the middle of rubble - which was their house or business (as I couldnt tell due to the amount of debris) looking for things to salavage.
I heard today The Red Cross in Alabama and Georgia are in need of semi's to haul relief supplies to effected areas. What a great way for Millis to "give back" and to spread our name in a very positive light. I stand up now and say "If we were willing to get involved - I would gladly volunteer to haul loads and for-go any compensation for doing so. I am sure there are other Millis drivers that would stand up and do the same! The worst area hit in GA is right in our back yard not to mention we have customers in that area!
Not that they will act - but anyone else willing to do this with me? I also posted this on the Blog to see if/what we can get involved. -
Wow - what happened? -
Ok Guys - need some help. I have a Cobra 25 that I bought new in July of last year. I had it peeked and tuned last year also. Has worked well until recently I am getting what sounds like "bleed over" from channel 18 when I am on 19. If I switch over to 18 it's clear - but they are talking on 19.
Stopped at a CB shop yesterday and he said it was most likely in one of the welds. However he thought he found it - NOPE still doing it. Now it appears no one hears me very well. CRAP!
Ok time to get a better radio I guess - I need suggestions! I dont know crap about this stuff. I have thought about just getting a Cobra 29 since the cost is with in my budget.
Good radio or not???? Cant afford those Connex lazer 5000 radios the "real truckers" use so need ideas for a good but affordable radio.
HELP!!!!!!!! -
Cobra 25 LTD and 29 LTD are good robust radio's for everyday use. I have a 29 LTD and also used on back in the 90's when I drove before. Not a "big" radio by other people's measures but does just fine for me.
If you want to keep that radio I would suggest finding a reputable radio shop and have them check it out. Also, the 29 LTD's price is good for the radio you get. -
Count me in! I would haul relief supplies for sure. It's really sad to think what those people are going through.
I also heard on XM a driver was starting a drive for drivers to donate their T/A and Flying J/Pilot points for food and supplies and shower credits for those in need. A good idea buy not sure how you could know if they would actually go for the needy cause. -
I thought about that too - but by the time I get someone else to work/look at it and pay them - I could have bought a new one.
I just looked at the new Cobra - the one with the weather band on it. Seems nice - on sale at Pilot for 129. Just dont have a clue what the buttons mean like Dyna Mike, delta tune etc. I do like having a weather band since my truck radio doesnt have that.
