Maybe I didn't didn't have a true super 10, but I had to manually shift mine when I drove one. Still, I liked that transmission a lot better than a straight ten as you only had 5 stick moves, and if you only had to drop one gear on a grade, it was just a flip of a switch.

Swift has a speed program for certain drivers. Maybe you're behind a driver that hasn't got to be a premium driver and can do 62mph. If the gps shows that a new driver like myself is going over 62mph it will cost me my job. So pass me all you want, stay behind me as long as you want, or wait for me to leave as long as you can wait. I have bills to pay, a family to feed, no driver gets rewarded for speed. Better safe then sorry, so the next time any of you truckers see swift moving slow, say this to yourself "he/she is going to live" Swift qoute, safe by choice, not by chance. The president of the U.S gets ripped off, really l think all drivers get ripped off no matter what company you work forFalseMirage Thanks this.

Aren't their trucks governed? If so, how can you go over 62 m.p.h. Are you just talking about cruising down a mountain or something? and going over 62?
-
He is talking about the common practice of allowing the load to push the truck down a hill.
I will reserve my commentary on the subject, as it has been beat to death in other threads....and I simply do not have the energy to argue these days.Love2shift, Rattlebunny and 25(2)+2 Thank this. -
Injun not having the energy to argue? Wow that is amazing.Injun Thanks this.

not sure what this means
and I do wish you well,
not sure how safe driving at 62mph across Texas or Arizona for the Swift driver or anyone else for that matter.
so don't be too offended or surprised by drivers that complain about or want to bust you into 3 pcs. at the truck stop, it's not personal just the name on the truck.
Pretty sure driving at or near the posted speed limit has been proven to be the safest approach though I have no data or research on that, just my own experience. -
Love2shift I see you mentioned Lot Lizards.
I never heard the term either until I was at truck driving school a couple weeks ago. Funny name!
Glad you started this tread because I'm thinking of going with Swift. Just had a close family friend start with them 2 weeks ago and he like it so far. -
I gotta say that its nice to read 5 pages of a thread and ........*cough*........*still coughing......choking.........* there we are.......nothing horrible or too negative about swifty on here? i dont if i'm scared or just not awake enough to realize whats going on. lol. All in all, again....nice to finally read some positive views from a rookie about starting a new job/career.
