I had a wiper arm break on me, but luckily it was the passengers side. I called the dealer to get a new one and I was informed that they no longer make it. The new updated replacements require you to change out the entire assembly (pass and dvr) at a cost of roughly $800 for the parts. I have called all the used parts locations and nine have one.
That being said, are 2 wipers required by DOT? I have to get my annual done next week and not sure if they will pass it.

Just like a light, if it's there, it has to work or it's considered malfunctioning equipment. Plus there are FMCSA guidelines on windshield visability from the driver side to the passenger side.
You can find big truck stuff like that on ebay. Give it a try. -
YES !!! it has to be there and has to WORK ! I had the passenger side missing as well due to the painter loosing it somewhere. Anyways, I got pulled over a level 1 inspection and got a warning, and my motor carrier(B.I.T.) gave me warning number 2. I finally found one at a wrecking yard next to nothing.
-
That's what I thought, Thanks.
I have tried eBay and all the wrecking yards I could locate (online and eBay) Next step is to hit the 4wheeler wrecking yard and see if I can locate it on a car as it is a Bosch arm. -
Why don't you give us the year, make and model of truck you need it for??? Maybe one of us can help.
-
Yeah we can help. Give us the info. Model before last Camaro/Firebird's had super long wipers. The same with minivans.
-
take it to a welding shop and get it welded.
my last truck had the plastic end go bad and no one had it however they did have one that was shorter and so I took the old one cut off the end and welded an end on from the short one, worked fine. -
JB Weld will fix anything.
panhandlepat Thanks this. -
Looks like SHC may be gone for the night, but the tractor in question is this Western Star 4900EX LowMax...

2004 WS Lowmax 4900EX
It's the passenger side. It has a small opening for the stud with a bolt thru.
Welding and JB wont fix it as the all the splines stripped out of the pot-metal end. If all else fails, I will just drill a small hole thru the pot-metal and the stud and pin it in place till i can get around to getting the new arms and the free time to remove the entire dash to replace them LOL
Thank you for all your help, and I'm heading out to the junk yard tomorrow. Luckily, the arm is short and I might be able to locate it on a mid-90's Buick I have been told?
