thanks for all the help, but my comapny sealed the deal today. Wanted me to leave friday so i could be in texas on Sunday when I had told them 2 months ago I needed Sunday off as my mother was coming into town. They then got snotty with me, said a few words I couldn't post on here, and told me they needed a driver who they could depend on, so I told them I needed the same out of a company and quit.... orientation with SNI is set-up for Monday morning LOL
Contract changes on my gig!!

SHC, just a shot on the end here. Sounds like something is happening with this company. In this market rates are increasing and what they had was specialized and getting harder to cover. I am thinking they are trying to pull something on drivers to keep more money and likely lost some drivers. I would say getting out while you can was wise.

yes, not to mention that doing the run I was on limited me to just that single run, as where somewhere else, I can do multiple things.
Sure, they had other liquid tanker freight I could have done on a friday but that also would have required me to put $8k in pumps and PTO on my truck, which i didn't see making me any more money after that cost.
I'm back to SNI's Choice Program and going to run the lanes i know i can make enough money on, and when the $3 a mile loads pop-up to AZ and NV then i can grab them too and make some extra cash to pay down some debt. -
OK.. somehow I missed that $1,000 bill they pulled out of your rate. Then they extended their arrogance by f'king with you about your scheduled time off? Good for you on walking. Sorry to hear they put you in a corner like that adding insult to injury.
I agree with Bill: for them to suddenly behave this way after a substantial business relationship with you points to something they're not telling you (like signing lower line haul rates with a bigger carrier or internal cash flow issues). If they had any integrity, they would have worked with you instead of stuffing the changes down your throat. One of the unfortunate topics in business is sometimes you have to dump bad customers in order to replace them with good ones.
Good luck with the SNI deal. Sounds like it will get you the cash flow and flexibility you lost with the tanker gig. -
I think so, as I know their load board very well, and made great money there before. I never should have left, but you know when those gravy train's come into the station, you have to get on them.....till the biscut wheels fall off that is LOL

I would have been worried that doing this trip on an "on call" basis, that they were giving the load to somebody else most of the time, and you were just the backup.

No, the plant only uses 1 tank a week of product. I was the only guy, but if they had a problem I would have to delay my delivery by X amount of days. And sometimes they would not even call and I would have to sit in the valley in Texas for a few days
