CR England is the worst trucking company ever. First let me start by saying don't count on the shuttle from the bus station to CR to be on time...I had a three hour wait!. We went straight to the company to do our drug testing and an agility test, which by the way was not mention on the website or in the email. Do not count on an friendly atmosphere, the trainers are nasty, rude, and very unprofessional. They told me that I was hired when I called but when I got there I realized that I was not the only one, it was about 21 of us in the class. I was on a bus from North Carolina to Gary, IN for 23 HOURS. I did not go to the hotel first but instead we went straight the company, did the drug test, and then the agility test. One of the requirements of the agility test is to get in the back of the trailer unassisted by anyone or anything, I did not pass this part so they told me that I failed and I would have to go home!!! WHAT?!!!..SERIOUSLY!!!!...NO ROAD TEST, NO DRIVING SKILL TEST, OR INSPECTION TEST....NO I JUST COULD NOT GET IN THE BACK OF THE TRAILER SO I FAILED....They were nice enough to put me up in a nasty bug ridden hotel for the night and I was on a bus for another 23 HOURS headed back to North Carolina. So if anybody is considering joining the company PLEASE do your homework I wish I had!:biggrin_25510:

So you could not climb into the inside of the trailer though the back door?

An agility test separates the people who BS about their fitness, and prevents future workers comp claims. Climbing into the back of a trailer is something I did about every other day, so it's a real test, and if you can't do it to sweep out a trailer or whatever, you probably can't pick up a load in some places that require spotless trailers.

That said, you didn't want to work for CRE anyway... you can do much better, regardless of your qualifications.

I'm only 5'2"...I can get in the back if I stand on the wheel chock to give me a little more height, but they told me I couldn't because that would be "cheating".

My wife is 5'0" and she did it. Keep the left door closed, open the right door, step up onto the DOT bar, grab the left door with your left hand, the right hinge with your right hand, and pulled yourself up until you can put your knee on the floor, then pul the other leg up and stand up.

Please dont make excuses for your height - it's technique.

This is true.... about the PHYSICAL part that is...but they could have mentioned this in/on the application/interview process and not waited until I got there.

not sure on the cheating part, but all of this testing is known as a workwell fitness exam. you can thank CSA 2010 for that. it was there before, but now it is used as a tool for people who can not perform the job.

the problem i see is that the drivers who have "grandfathered in" with the company they are employed with, it is unlikely they (driver) will ever have to do the workwell test which i think is total crap.

    swtatpye Thanks this.

But I do believe that everything happens for a reason, and CRE was not meant to be. I will not let my expreience with them bring me down, I have my cdl and will just move on to another company. God is Good and will look after me!
